So, here's my timeline so far:

Sept. 4 - Completed online application
Sept. 8 - Biometrics taken in Boston
Sept. 18 - App & supporting docs express mailed to NY consulate.
Sept. 20 - USPS confirms delivery.
Sept. 21 - E-mail received from NY consulate confirming arrival, and saying visa is being processed.

Was VERY relieved to get that e-mail today! Now the TRUE waiting begins! *Crosses fingers for a good outcome.*

Anyone receive a *yes* lately?

Still no news for anyone this week it seems, looks like they are going to hold out a bit longer! I just hope there are not too many priorities going in now pushing back the normal applications : (

Hi Dukespecail!

I am on processing day 37, NY consulate!!! What about you? I think we all may have to wait a little longer. Student visa applications are still being processed.  A lot of UK universities commence the term in the first week of October. I imagine there a quite a few students still waiting.  Let's keep our hopes up!

'Ello,

We are now on day 28 today so not as far along as you, just hoping we would sneak ours in Like Emmjaye did!

About the student applications though, it will be freshers, or I am pretty sure it is freshers week as I have seen all the students at the universities today coming home from work so you would think they would have most of them done now, if not people leaving things so late is a tad worrisome. So I still have my hopes for an end of this week approval : )

You are not too far behind me; just a little shy of 2 weeks. Yes it would be great to have an outcome like EmmJayys. I think her mother-in-law was very sick with cancer. She included it in her application (proof).  So I am guessing that is what gave her a quick decision time. Fortunately no one in my immediate family is sick so I will just have to wait to be processed as they process every other settlement visa.

I have completed 2 different master degrees in London recently and I do recall starting uni the very first week of October. There are many uni's so the term start date probably varies between the end of September and the first week of October. I had a look at the thread for student visa processing times today on this site. It seems that there are still students waiting for their visas, bummer! I am hoping that the consulates are almost finished with the student visas!!!  It would be awesome to hear something this week!  If not this week, I know next week will be a very high chance!  Good thing that time is now on our sides  ;D  Our chances of hearing something improve everyday!!!

Yeah, I'm definitely wishing I had known about the priority service before I sent all my stuff in.  :(

Just got this email from Worldbridge...we sent in an address change and I put a jokey line in about getting it done yesterday...at least we know this much...they haven;t even looked at John's!!!  He is currently homeless, jobless and carless in Southern cal! (His own fault admittedly, on all fronts...i told him to wait to give job notice...he managed apartments so the job and home were together, then when someone offered him a good price on his car he sold it!) currently grateful for the generosity of friends...

WorldBridge Service has contacted the Application Support Centre on your behalf and received the following response: “We are currently processing settlement applications entered on our system on 12 July 2010 and this application was entered on our system on 12 August.

This is the LA consulate(non priority...could kick myself over that!) so may be a small crumb of comfort for someone on here...and also it;s Freshers week here in Cardiff this week for UWIC and Glam and next week for Cardiff Uni so maybe they will speed up a bit! Haven;t they heard of seasonal staff! Good luck!

Hey Gilean that is a big comfort as if they are on that date it LA they must be further ahead in NY. *manages to become even more anxious* Thank you for posting that.
