Gilean thanks for posting that! It is so hard to time when you should start the "move". I am renting out my condo instead of selling in this market and it's tough because the management company of course needed a start date and I never thought we would be here in October!

And, thanks Nickiboo17 for thinking about my kids.....My parents live in Maine ( we are near Boston ) so we could always live there for a few weeks commuting my kids back and forth to school...easier said than done! And at 38, living with my parents again is not a good prospect!
Patiently waiting for visas!

Just got this email from Worldbridge...we sent in an address change and I put a jokey line in about getting it done yesterday...at least we know this much...they haven;t even looked at John's!!!  He is currently homeless, jobless and carless in Southern cal! (His own fault admittedly, on all fronts...i told him to wait to give job notice...he managed apartments so the job and home were together, then when someone offered him a good price on his car he sold it!) currently grateful for the generosity of friends...

Gilean, thanks for sharing this tidbit.  I am in the same boat as John, floating aimlessly in the sea of So Cal waiting for my visa!  Carless in Los Angeles es no bueno ... haha!  Amen for the graciousness of friends.  Now let's pray for the graciousness to hit the speed of the consulates.   I seriously believed things would pick up this week!  Maybe they still will ...

Edited to add:
Is there anyone currently processing through LA with Priority?  I'm on day 6 and curious as to who else might be waiting.

I have been looking at this forum for a month now.  Very helpful, and I really don't know why I am stressing.  Must be the authority-fear in me.

I am also out of the LA consulate.  Priority app for fiance visa email confirmation received Friday the 17th.  I have heard nothing since (but I also don't expect too).  I am naturally impatient so I keep checking the email and also looking at WebyJ's assurances.  I am packing and selling off everything.  It's a little premature, but we will just re-apply if something crazy goes wrong (which I am sure it won't).

Thanks to this forum, I found a lot of info I would've missed before.  Now my biggest concern is that driving test :D

Ringspun, you are just a 2 days behind me - and I'm spouse to your fiance.  Not literally, haha, just in visa terms.  Is it the same timeline for fiance's?  15 working days for straightforward apps?  Good luck!! Let us know if you hear anything.  Fingers crossed for you ... for all of us.

It's ridiculous how obsessed I am with checking email and stuff.  I'm pretty calm actually, though I'm good at pretending to be something just to make it through.  I haven't left the house in two and a half days ... very pathetic  :P

I read on the student visa thread that the consulates have been working OT to process student apps - I'm wondering if they are doing the same for other visas.  I guess no matter what it benefits the rest of us!

Good to see another LA waiter.  I knew from the beginning I would use the priority.  To me, it was worth it not to wait.  If my partner were here with me, it wouldn't be an issue.

Oh and priority fiance is the same 15 days as spouse.  Biggest difference is that I have to rinse and repeat to get my FLR.

LOL, rinse and repeat!  Well at least you will be practiced in the art of applying and will probably have ducks in a row when the time comes.  We thought about doing it that way but thought what the hell ... and took the plunge.

Amen on priority service, I absolutely think it is worth it ... and it is also good to see another LA limbo person.  Seriously, best of luck and nice to know I have a compadre ... though sorry to know you are having to go through the suspense, it's gutting.

The LA Consulate received my wife's app on the 10th and nothing since then.

Andy, may I ask if your wife's app was sent under the Priority option?

consulate phoned john yesterday as worldbridge had supplied a 12 digit zip code(gotta love their efficiency!) for his updated address and the lady was very nice, so he took the plunge and asked how long it would take, she said things were picking up a bit now and it shouldn;t be too much longer - whatever that means - she has to phone him back today as she claimed not to have my National Insurance number - which I KNOW is on the forms but obviously he needed to get that from me so he is hoping for a bit more positive news...our shipment docked at Felixstowe on Tues and I have no desire to be putting all that away on my own, especially the power tools!!!
