she said things were picking up a bit now and it shouldn;t be too much longer

I hope hope hope this is the case, going from the 20's to the 30's is a step I did not want to see happen and the news can't come soon enough, this is something good to latch onto and hope for today or tomorrow!

From what I've been told the ECO's worked this past weekend and the weekend before trying to clear up the backlog of T4 Student visas and have made really good headway, so I'd give it this week and then things should be getting back on track for the settlement side.

I'd stay you're still looking at 35-45 business days for non-priority applications for the time being but if I get any info I'll pass it along.

Hang in there!

Hello all! I hope everyone is finding success in their endeavors! I know this is a sanity-consuming process and I for one am so stressed from waiting! I got my biometrics done September 9th, had to gather final documents from my fiance in the UK, finally mailed the package on the 21st of September, USPS said it was delivered to NY consulate September 22nd at 11am but I haven't gotten an email yet :( I am hoping to get one very soon. I did pay the extra 300 for expediting so I'm hoping for speedy service.

I was wondering how everyone else's process went? and one more question...I did not include any specific wedding plans, as obviously everything is up in the air without a set date of my arrival...will this cause a delay/refusal? i hope not...we have a baby girl and just want to get married already!

Hopefully, I think I can only take one more week of not knowing, we were hoping that everything would be sorted already! I don't want to get to day 39, hopefully 40 is as far as you will get. I am just thinking now we are in the 30's do you think it would be safe to book flights for a months time?

I think in a months time you should definitely have your visa; that's about 4 weeks from now or roughly 20 business days of processing lol. I had to rebook my flight recently because I originally thought by 35 business days I would have my visa. Just to be on the safe side, book your flight after 45 business days. I have heard of the consulates making errors on visas so factor in some time for that just in case they were to make a mistake. Tomorrow will be day 40 for me so hopefully I will hear something: It would make the weekend so much better! If they process mine soon, then it will give you hope that yours is just shortly behind mine  :)

That was the thought! Your good news is great news for us! :) I would hope we have the visa in hand when it comes to booking them next week, it is just that there are some cheap flights in a limited block of time and I really don't want to miss out on it and would not want to think the visa would take 50 business days! I hope you do hear tomorrow, weekends must be awful. I am surprised how quick time is going however, I thought with all the thinking about things it would crawl to a stop.

I may even start to feel resentful towards new priority applications. : P But there is no way I would want anyone to wait that long. You are next in line I should think and there needs to be one more bit of good news this week, I expected more but I guess next week is what this week should have been, students, sheeeesh!

And I keep an eye on your visa too lol!!! As far as I am aware, I am the leader of the pack for waiting! I too also get nightmares that I will be denied for a silly reason but I know I have a very strong application. My application and supporting documents weighed over 6 pounds (I can only imagine what yours weighed with 3 dependents)!  I also hired a solicitor to make sure that I did not forget one single thing. I have went above and beyond for every item required and surpassed all requirements; however, there is that thought that maybe I forgot something. It is a terrible thought that continuously lingers on in my head lol.   I am sure you are, like many others on this thread are very accustomed to this sort of abnormal thought process.

I sometimes think because I handed in an enormous amount of documents it may just take a few more days to sort through it all, so you really could be before me.  Either way, whosever first will be great to know that they have started to process our applications!

I am rooting for all of us!!!

Andy, may I ask if your wife's app was sent under the Priority option?

Yes it was.

kathrynhabibti: Thanks! :)

Yes, you purchase it after completing the application, but you only do it on the day you're going to mail the application and supporting docs out.
