I feel you on the whole business constraints... I spent 4 months without seeing my wife (when we were engaged) and it was so hard.  you'll get through it!

Thanks Ajanjig for the moral support lol. I know I will get through it. I'm sure years down the road the time apart will seem like nothing. So far I have spent 3.5 months away from my bf, and we haven't been separated for more than a week during the past 4 years. I am definitely ready to see him!

I completely understand what you are going through minus your lack of transportation! I thank God that I have a car, or I would go mental, honestly! I do not know how you do it! In surburbia its almost impossible to get anywhere without a car! I had to change my flight! Its a bummer but there is nothing I could do about it! How many days have you been waiting?

Well, I've only been waiting 8 business days, so relatively speaking I should not complain.  If I had a car I would be faaaaaar less anxious I think.

I'm soooo glad you have your family to help keep you occupied - and a car!  Yay for wheels!  You deserve all of those perks, you are such a trooper!  Want to zoom by and pick me up to go shopping? ;)  That's what we Americans do best, lol!

Thanks for asking  :)  Nope, still hanging.  Today is the last day I can receive news that will put me on my booked plane to Heathrow on Sept 28th, so my tummy is especially in knots.  I can change the ticket, no biggie ... but still.  Makes me feel insane to think of having to pick another arbitrary date to fly, then what if I get my visa immediately and I'm here for another two weeks.  I'm staying at a friends, no car, not really anything to walk to or whatever ... so I'm a bit of a cuckoo caged rat but feel relatively calm at the same time.

I want to go home on Tuesday!!!!  And I know you all know how this feels .... sigh.  We are tough tough cookies.  I love WebyJ's advice, to soak up all things American while we are here.  She makes a great point.

Oh darling, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that you get news very soon!  Please let us know when the good news comes in! :D

Trust me, it will be fine; I met my wife while we were working together for Cunard, and when you work on a cruise ship you see the other person ALL THE TIME, so when i first said goodbye to her for a long period of time, it was hard.  In our first seven months together we never went more than 12 hours without seeing one another (and it was usually much less).  15 months later, I'm married to the girl.  so there ya have it :-P

Excellent news!  I am using you and sylviakahlo as my gauge!  ;D I keep thinking Wednesday is my day.  In the meantime, I have become obsessed with the big skies that my partner pointed out.  One of the things I never paid attention to, even though I've lived here all my life.

Again, Good Luck to everyone this this week!

Congrats to those of you who have received your visas recently! I am anxiously waiting, I won't be surprised if it's another two weeks for me. Monday is day 30, so I know I have more wait time coming. IT's very difficult for me, my husband and I have known eachother for 2.5 years, and in total, I think we have spent 5 weeks together in person strung out over the months. We're used to waiting between seeing eachother, but not being able to control when we will see eachother again is becoming unbearable. For all of you out there still waiting, please please *please!* post your approvals as soon as you have them, so I can better guess when to look out for mine! I wish all of you best of luck in your new lives :)

MLS, I know, isn't that worse than being separated? Not knowing when the separation will end? UGH.

Which consulate are you waiting on?
