23rd august - sent in our application, paid priority service
24th august - conformation email was recieved
1st october - My wife was denied entry, we have given them everything they asked for.

Sorry to hear Beckicos.

Best plan is to wait for all the information & documents to be returned from the Consulate and see what the specific reason(s) are for the refusal and go from there. Most refusals are for something very simple and can be addressed with another application with the appropriate documentation. However, if it was for something such as deception & criminal convictions then there is not much that can be done.

But hopefully it's for one of the simple ones that can be fixed.

Oh, bekicos, I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm hoping that it's one of the simple reasons.

thank you guys for your support. She has neither decieved nor has she a criminal record, so fingers crossed for us we can fix this. Everyone is heart broken right now.

I am wishing everyone here all the best luck in the world with their applications, I would not wish this feeling on anyone  :\\\'(

Unfortunately your wife must travel and reside in the UK with you. If she didn't by what basis would you NEED to be in the UK for? As your right to be in the UK only exists because your wife would be living & residing there.

Sorry, you'll need to enter at the same time. If she needs to return to the US to tie up loose ends for a week or so, that would be OK, but you cannot travel in advance of her because and live in the UK without her because your entry is tied to her exercising her EU treaty rights. If she is not there exercising her rights, you have no right to be in the UK.

Thanks WebyJ,

I figured that was the case.Obviously I am going to be there because of her so it wouldn't make sense if I went by myself but still wanted to double check because of that one question on the form "if we were going to travel together"

Thanks again for everything.

Very sorry to hear bekicos.

Hopefully, it's due to a simple reason (like a missing document), and thus will be a simple remedy (including the missing document and applying again).

Does one have to pay the entire fee again in this case?

Yes, you would have to re-apply and go through the entire visa application process all over again: online form, pay for visa, gather documents, attend biometrics, send documents to consulate (and pay for priority processing if you wish to).

LOL, rinse and repeat!  Well at least you will be practiced in the art of applying and will probably have ducks in a row when the time comes.  We thought about doing it that way but thought what the hell ... and took the plunge.

Amen on priority service, I absolutely think it is worth it ... and it is also good to see another LA limbo person.  Seriously, best of luck and nice to know I have a compadre ... though sorry to know you are having to go through the suspense, it's gutting.

I think LA took a week of relaxation.  Oh well, more time to fill up on Chicken Fried Steak, pork rinds, root beer, and Chattanooga Chew candy...the things I will miss the most.  Good luck to all this coming week...

Well....The ECO called my husband today (Saturday) and told him he was issuing our Visas for us today based on the condition that my husband renew his British Passport ( we used his UK birth certificate and N.I.# as proof of citizenship ) and travel with us when we go.....I am still anxiously waiting for the email but I am thrilled! Thought you would all like to know that they are working on a Saturday!
Patiently waiting for visas!

They can not do this to our family  :\\\'(
