Gift for mom?
« on: July 24, 2010, 11:14:26 AM »
My mom has been an amazing support for me and my *hopeful* move to the UK.  I'd like to get her a special present to let her know how much she means to me, and how much her support has meant to me.  I wouldn't be able to go to Grad School without her support and I want her to know I appreciate it.  I can spend around $200 and I have a month to plan this, so I would really appreciate any suggestions.  She loves jewelry, so I'd like to find something special.  I am considering having something made, but I could also find something and have it engraved.  I would totally appreciate any advice.  I was thinking of some sort of antique pendant engraved with something lovely.  Any ideas?

I don't have a specific seller in mind, but you could find something really lovely on Etsy. I love looking there for special gifts!

Thanks ladies.  Jenn I don't think she's a charm bracelet type- I'm thinking some sort of a necklace, simple but that would remind her I'm not leaving her forever for the UK and that I appreciate her.

CB, I luuurve the first one.  I could say my mom in the one that holds the two of us together- and it's so gorge.  And I agree with you, anyone that want to buy me a prezzle can get me the anchor!

You just have a sister right? So your mom is like the top and you and your sister the bottom two. I think it's really lovely, simple but beautiful and anything tiffanys is always impressive :)

I seriously love that anchor, i got the Hannahmakesthings Sailor stole my heart the other day, I love her chunky statement summer necklaces, I also have the magpie

I think it's perfect- as I do have one sister and mom has been our anchor, and I really appreciate the amazing input.  We must get together when (if, please visa be okay) I get over to the UK.  Plus the necklace comes in the best box in the whole world!  ;D

No worries, glad you found something you liked! That was easy! :D

Absolutely :D I don't think it will be long until the West End calls like a siren for ya, and I'm always up for seeing anything if it involves a theatre (and pre/post theatre cocktails :D)

I'll have to get up north at some point  as well :)
