Um, Embassy has NO appointments? WTH

I checked back in May, before our kid was born, just to guesstimate how far out I'd need to make an appointment with the embassy. They had appointments for the following week the day I checked, and I figured no big deal.

So, now our baby's born and I have the UK certificate. I went to make an appointment at the embassy website, and there is literally NOTHING. All the days are blanked out through October, and then in October it says they are not accepting bookings yet.

Anyone have issues with this? We were planning on traveling in October, so I need to get this done immediately. How am I supposed to do this when I can't even get an appointment? Grr...

Give them a call and see if you can get a cancellation appointment and tell them that you're travelling in October and need to get it done. That might get you in.

I found that if you check every few days, some available dates will pop up.

Phew..I checked every day for a week. Finally, on a Monday, some appointment slots popped up. Yay! I got one for August 25. Lucky I got one so soon! I was starting to freak out. Now, just gotta get that pesky passport photo done.
