Student Universe.com? flights?
« on: August 13, 2010, 04:38:27 PM »

Has anyone used the website for StudentUniverse.com for cheap flights? I just stumbled on this site and the airfare for students is great. Anyone have experience with them, good or bad?

I used them all the time in 2005-2006 when DH and I first started seeing each other. Never had any problems with them at all! I really miss those cheap fares. :)

Ok great, so its a legit site i take it. As long as you can prove your a student you should be good to go?

Say i wanted to fly somewhere in europe before reaching london, you think i could still do so with them, or does it only count if your flying to the country your studying in? (if that makes sense).

Or is it just a matter of having student status and can travel with their fares whenever?

I suppose they act as a travel agent, book everything for you?

As far as I know, they dont care where you are flying or where you are studying.  My friend studies in the US and was only coming to the UK on holiday.   And what do you mean book everything for you?  They only book the airfare, just as Kayak, Expedia, etc.

I used them to book my transatlantic flight when I moved to the UK 4 years ago (can't believe it's been that long!)  No problems, everything was just as expected.

I've used them for flights to the UK and also here home when I traveled domestically. It was cheap and I got flights on Northwest and American Airlines, so they use the well known airlines. I also have a flight where I didnt know the airline at first but then I found out it was through delta as well. When you first sign up, I think I just had to give them my student e-mail address or the school that I went too and they contacted them to prove it. It is a great and legit site, loved using it!

I used them to fly to Dublin last year and I didn't have to show proof of being a student. I've used statravel a lot too and never had to show proof of being a student.

I love this website!  You would think the prices are too good to be true but they're real, lol.
They have a new thing now where you no longer have to be a student.. as long as you are 25 or under.  Also, I have had to change flights as well as cancel flights and the fees were insanely cheap.

I haven't used them but another great student site is sta travel. I used them for my flight over. My ticket from lax was only 400 and it had no stops. Plus it only cost 50 to change days. They have lots of specials too.

Wow I just checked the other thread then saw this, I can't believe single flights are soooo cheap. I was worried about flights costs before but this is so good. Is it because if there are any flight delays they are not very helpful or the tickets are not flexible?

I know that sta travel is very easy to change. I had to change tickets twice and it was only the $50 charge and price diff in ticket. We still managed to find flights at the same price even months after we bought them so it was only 50 to change. Plus our flight had no delays.
