Blue Moon
« on: August 15, 2010, 03:12:04 PM »
I fell in love with Blue Moon when I was in the states this summer.  I checked the uk website and it says some Sainsbury's stock it.  I went to the closest one to me on the list (Northfield Bham) and they said they haven't sold it in years.  Anyone know where to pick it up?

Seen it in bottles at the Sheffield Tap at the train station, and on draught in the Brewery Tap in Leeds.
For retail - makro or costco might have it, that's where my mate picks Sam Adams up for me

I love it too!  Just saw it at Whole Foods near the Kensington High Street tube stop.

Sainsbury's is your best bet, but the list on the Blue Moon site doesnt seem very accurate (as you have discovered).  I would call around to local Sainsbury's on that list to check first before heading out anywhere else.  I know they do carry it at the Sainbury's in Calcot (Reading) because thats where I have to go to get mine :)

Tomorrow I am popping into the Durham Sainsbury to see if they have it...I will be parking there to take my theory test and buying lots of beer either way ;-)

The pub near my flat just got Blue Moon on tap. I just had to have it the other day! It's a bit pricey at £4.20 for a pint (I usually spend about £2.20-£2.50 for a normal pint), but it's nice to know it's there for a treat!  :D

I adore Blue Moon! The Honey Moon is even better... I wonder if that can be found?

Hey, you have good taste, phatbeetle! I saw you mentioned Shipyard Pumpkin Ale as well... That's a big one to miss...Pretty much all of the autumn seasonal beers.

I got my husband hooked on the blueberry Seadog when he has visited me in the states, but we have not been able to track it down in the UK yet. Though we are sort of remote and haven't done much searching in bigger areas. Any luck on that one? :)

Ohhhhh what I wouldn't do for a Shipyard Pumpkinhead Ale!  I smuggled a 6 pack with me when I moved over last year.  It's not October without it!  Is there a general "beer" thread floating around here?  I could talk about fancy autumnal beers all day!

Aww, thanks  ;D

Is there a general "beer" thread floating around here?  I could talk about fancy autumnal beers all day!

I think we've had lots of beer threads, but I'm not sure that there's a specific one...  I could talk about beer a lot, as I love it!!  I think the UK has some absolutely amazing beers and my favourite pub is a "real ale" pub.  And I loooooooooooooove the great local beers I get around here!

Now I just need pumpkin beer!  :P

Smuggle? Are you not allowed to bring a six pack of beer? I read you can bring up to a case of wine without having to pay tax on it... Because if you can bring beer, I'm so bringing it!
