Welcome, EmmJayye!

I'm a fellow New Englander (MA) who will hopefully be in the London area come next June/July.   :)  I'm sure I'll be with you stocking up on DD's coffee when DH and I make our move finally.

I can say that I've learned SO much from the wonderful people on this site.

As for books, I've seen the Culture Shock series at Borders or Barnes & Noble.  It seems like a good book when I took a glance at it, but haven't actually read it so I can't say for certain how good it is compared to the others recommended.

Hi Lizzy! :)

My husband and I spent a night at Ruthin Castle during my last visit in June. The weather was gorgeous and the day after, we headed up to Conwy. It was breathtaking! Were you anywhere near there?

I love every part of Wales that I've seen so far. Thrilled so many New Englanders are so close by :) You're all invited to my Halloween Party!!! haha

Hey emmjaye, we were married in Llandudno and his family live in conwy!!  We live in Lincoln though, which is also worth a visit too as has a lovely cathedral n castle, but we go to visit every so often as 2 of dh sisters live in conwy.  Halloween party sounds fun though, I've already been looking at little outfits for my 3 mo old!! hehe x

Don't know how I missed this post before, but croeso i Gymru (welcome to Wales, if you need translation).  I'm also in Wales.  I live in a small village near Caerphilly, which is just north of Cardiff.  It seems like there are quite a few of us who are settling around here lately, maybe we'll need to set up a meet-up sometime.  Feel free to drop me a PM if you need to chat or want advice on where to find American things around South Wales.  I've been here for four years this November and love life in Wales.

I'm also a social worker here, so I'd be happy to chat about that as well.  Hope your move goes well.  Are you still waiting on a visa?

Greetings from yet another New Englander (Massachusetts). It's so amusing seeing all the references to Dunkins and knowing exactly what you all are going through. I've pretty much told all my family to just send me pounds and pounds of Dunkins coffee grounds for every birthday and every Christmas... And I got my husband addicted to it as well, since he stayed with me (obviously) each time he visited, and I have a Dunkins practically next door.

Anyway, just wanted to say hi and we really should plan some kind of New Englander/Englander party some time when we've all finally settled in the UK (since I'm also waiting for my visa). :-p Cause, you know, it would be fun... and stuff.

Hello Cadenza!

I just picked up a little brochure from Tescos on Caerphilly... thinking of checking out the Christmas festival this year. It sounds like a lot of fun! Any input on that?

Haven't been to that one as I just moved her last year and was busy getting settled.  I'll have to check it out though--sounds fun!
