Wise choice. We took the train for our wedding and with a hangover it was so brutal coming home!

I thought chippies avoid frying Mars bars cause it ruins the oil.  I never saw any in Scotland but I really don't eat fish and chips much.
I've already mentioned that my local Malaysian restaurant does it.  The kids won't eat anywhere else.

haha not a clue! Just sounds like there are loads of chippys that do it from what I'be read but I never remember seeing any when I've gone the past few times but I'm the same as you and don't really eat fish and chips.

I want his life.  I've never been to multi day beer festival, I'd probably be embarrassed to have that much.

It's not a beer festival, it's just pubs.  Huddersfield has some great real ale pubs!

They didn't have kids.  This is our mistake Jimbo.   ;D  The cool kids will be at the bar.  We'll be chauffeuring our kids around to their activities.

My husband and I are so cool... No kids,  but we just stay home.  Disco and booze while we play backgammon in the lounge.

I think that'll be our Cinco de Mayo celebration tomorrow night! Along with taquitos and guacamole, etc., of course!  :)

I've previously claimed to only drink cask beer -- never keg.  I didn't like the CO2 being pumped into it and it was always too cold, which I felt killed the taste.

However... I have seen the light!  The scales have fallen from my eyes!  ;)

A new pub opened in Glasgow just about 2 years ago, and my partner started going there on a Sunday, so a few months ago I started meeting him there.  It's one of those hipster-y dog-friendly craft beer bars that don't take cash (card only), sell by 1/3 measures and are excruciatingly expensive (I paid £10.40 for a 500 ml can in there last weekend).  They usually have 1 cask beer on, but often it's not something I'm particularly interested in, so I started experimenting with some of the craft kegs... and now I have been converted!

I've had some amazing milkshakes and stouts in there, and am right into the sours at the moment.  Previously the thought of drinking a sour beer was stomach-churning for me, but I really like them now, as long as there's no mango or passion-fruit involved.

My beer world has expanded enormously... but I am now always skint!  ;)

Good luck with the new beer categories Albatross.  I know you can adapt.

My beer story is slightly different as my daughter celebrated her 16th birthday the other day and only wanted to sit in the park with her friends. She asked me to pay for refreshments, then slyly asked if she could take some beers from the fridge!  Up to this point she Always said she wasn't drinking, but things change.

After much reflection and consultation with Mrs CZ, I bought her a 3 pack of that supermarket tequila beer.  I  told her to be careful, call me if things get dicey and  beer before liquor, never sicker.  I also texted the boyfriend's parents to warn them since I'm sure some of that is gonna end up in his hands.

We are entering a whole new phase of parenthood!  With beer!
