American Food - Bournemouth
« on: September 03, 2010, 12:32:30 AM »
We're going to be going on holiday down to Bournemouth in a couple of days, and I'm wondering if anyone knows of any American food shops or good restaurants in or near Bournemouth.

Don't know of a single US food shop or restaurant, unless you count Burger King or Subway, which I don't.

Good restaurants, though:

Favorite all around - West Beach, on the boardwalk just west of the pier, great seafood and a view to die for.

Italian - Pinocchio, Poole Hill just above the town center

Indian - Taj Mahal, Westbourne, or Indian Ocean, Westcliff

Chinese - Ocean Palace, top of Priory Hill, Westcliff

Pub - Goat and Tricycle, West Hill road

Chippie - Chez Fred, Westbourne

Have fun....I'm moving there from Florida on Tuesday.

No American food in Bournemouth, but there is a new Mexican restaurant off the square that a Mexican friend of my colleague's thought was good.  I think there is an American food store in Hampshire somewhere; not that near Bournemouth, but if you're driving down from London, you might be able to swing by.  I can look up the address if you're interested.

I rarely eat in Bournemouth, though I am in the area about three times a year. How about trying tripadvisor?

Not Bournemouth TT....but as you are in Sheffield and I've just heard of this place - have you tried Uncle Sam's? Wondered if it was worth us taking a trip down

In Aldershot.   Could be on the way if you wanted it to be. Not too far from the M3  http://www.americansweets.co.uk/

Should've said we're going with the in-laws, so pretty much eating at restaurants is going to be non-existant, unless I could give a valid excuse...or the dogs can join us.   :-\\\\

I didn't really think there was anything near Bournemouth, but figured I'd ask.  My definition of American food, is different to the British idea of what American food is.   ;)  I'll have to try and do some food shopping when we go to London in a couple weeks (if we can navigate it around the Embassy and the two uchins).   ;D

I've heard of Uncle Sam's but never been.  It's supposed to be on Ecclesall Road, somewhere near or past Waitrose.   :-\\\\  Maybe we should arrange a meetup...

Thank you for the quick replies and help! x
