Minnesotan in Edinburgh
« on: September 03, 2010, 08:26:46 PM »
Hi UK Yankee world!  I'm 22 y/o moving to Edinburgh in a week to persue a masters degree in social work- MSW.  My mom lived in the UK as a child and I used to live in France but I love the UK.  I can't wait to be back in Europe  :)

Hello and thank you in advance!

I lived in the cities, and honestly give me a minnesota winter any day over here. It is so damp in the winter it gets in your bones and is hard to get warm.

I lived just outside the cities, I haven't spent a winter here yet though, I've been here about a month now on my fiance visa.  I think I am going to miss Minnesota winters though, I am a fan of real snow, haha  ;D

Welcome :) I'm at the other end of Scotland and last winter was reportedly the "worst" in two decades or so and it rarely got down to -10C.
