Today is the day......
« on: September 06, 2010, 10:12:05 AM »
Yes, today I move to England.  My flight leaves at about 7 tonight.  Spouse's visa with Indefinite Leave.  Wife and daughter already there (wife has been in US for 12 years).  Dog follows next week, no quarantine.

Happy Labor Day, everyone!  I'm making mine memorable, what are you doing for yours?

Holy guacamole, here I go....Eeeeeeeeeeeek!

Well, it was a year ago today that I moved over so I think you chose a good day!  :)

Good luck with the move!

How did the dog get around the quarantine?

By doing the "quarantine" here in the US!  Had to plan this far in advance, but got good help from AirAnimal.com

Would you put your pup in a kennel for 6 months?  No, neither would we....

Elizabeth Taylor got around it to a degree by keeping her dogs on her boat which was tied up and on Thames in London.

Wonderful! I hope that you had a safe flight and that everything goes well for you when you're on the ground :D
"Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the Universe, are challenged by this point of pale light. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves. The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand." - Carl Sagan

Spouse's visa with Indefinite Leave.
You didn't have to do FLR?
