I just hope that more people will ignore the fatalism of the argument that we are beyond repair. We are not beyond repair. We are never beyond repair. - AOC

Rankings according to one's field tend to be more relevant, IME. In terms of generic rankibngs, the playeers tend to be the same, by and large.  ;)

Awesome! *Cheers for Cambridge*
"Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the Universe, are challenged by this point of pale light. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves. The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand." - Carl Sagan

Well yes, and to be quite honest I didn't look too deeply into the methodologies...

But I read somewhere where this list does reflect in some way the investment levels for higher ed, and if it goads a Senator or MP into pumping more into universities then I am all for it.

OK -- so we just swapped places with Cambridge. At least we beat out the "other" institution down the road  ;)
