I'm so jealous :( I know I'm getting stronger 'cause, hey I can do things I couldn't do when I started, but I haven't lost any weight :(
Don't be so hard on yourself!

I'm VERY overweight and am on a diet that is prescribed by my GP. When I decided that I was going to do this and do it for the LAST TIME! I went and got some advice. I'm on a calorie restricted diet (no more than 1500 a day), the reason I'm doing the shred is that I have a 2 year old and I can't take a few hours to go to the gym (not that I could afford it £ wise anyway) & take that time from my daughter...I feel so guilty for taking 20 mintues a day for myself but I have to or I won't be around much longer to take care of my little girl.

If you're out to lose some weight consult your GP as they could have some tips for you.

I know *sighs* I just had high hopes about losing inches even if I'm not losing weight (and I'm not _gaining_ weight so that's a plus) but my measurements haven't changed either. Then when I tried to do my video today I just couldn't make myself do it - I got to the first set of squat and pushes and just...stopped. Meh. Meh. Meh. It's probably just PMS or homesickness or the fact that we used the Happy (SAD) Light yesterday but didn't today and the world will be a better place tomorrow.

Day 4...I'm still alive! No pain (except muscle soreness). I'm glad I'm using the weights now as I really feel the difference in the workout. Plus, by day 4 last time I really wasn't feeling it anymore. But ironically the soreness is kinda enjoyable in a weird sort of way.

I blew my diet yesterday though, too many stress factors, but back on the straight & narrow and we'll see what the numbers are on Sunday  :)

How are you doing Noirem? And CB did you take a day off?

Sorry, I went away for the weekend and blew off today as well. But I was walking all over Glasgow, up and down hills, thinking "I'm really glad I've been doing those lunges..."

Decided to resurect this thread.  My legs are aching walking up four flights of stairs again and I miss the way the crunches made my tummy feel so I started the video again. I still don't know if I can do level two with all the plank exercises and my wrist problems but I like level one a lot so we'll see how it goes.

I'm utterly beat: I wasn't able to do all the exercises, especially in the beginning, and the cardio triggered my astha (I was in a smoker's house most of the day on Saturday and they didn't smoke while I was there but I could tell I was borderline for an attack) but I made it through.  I'm sure tomorrow I'll feel even more like I've been through the wringer but this time I know how good I felt after a few days, so hopefully that'll help me push through.

I’m on day 7 of this and am loving it!  I think that I may have found the video trainer for me.  I am a bit worried about all the upcoming plank moves.  I did the dumbest thing while trekking in Indonesia, I made it thru the 8 hour trek just fine, but then tripped over a rock at the camp site and did I don’t know what to my left foot.  I had to be carried out of the jungle and was limping for about a month.  I didn’t go to the dr. at the time and I really should have.  I should go now, but my health insurance won’t cover it.  My left foot no longer bends the way it used to.  Basically I can stand much higher on my right toes than on the left.  This makes a ‘real’ pushup basically impossible!  Yoga is also a real challenge.  However, I don’t feel an pain, it just doesn’t move that way anymore.

That could be problematic. I was doing some of them against a wall, one leg at a time, and for one exercise I just did bicycle crunches.

Hmm.  I really like the workout and want to figure out a way to do it.  I tried to concentrate on doing real pushups tonight and it went ok.  I also did a 10 minute yoga video trying to improve my flexibility.  I think it might work.

Good luck figuring it out  :-\\\\ Do you have access to a sports or physical therapist you can consult?

I feel like I've been beat with rubber mallets.  Everything was so much more difficult today, with my muscles already aching. It hurts in a good way though - rusty muscles learning to move again, not sprains or strains or anything.  And I didn't trigger my asthma, so that's a plus  :)

Thanks!  I could go to see a physical therapist, but my insurance wouldn't cover it, it only covers preventative stuff.  It's really awful considering that I work at an insurance company!

I'm just going to keep streatching it a bit every day and see how that goes.

That beat up feeling is awful and wonderful all at the same time.  I hope that it doesn't last too long for you!

Noirem how are you doing with the shred?  I'm on day 3 with level 2, the first one just got too easy and I was getting really close to actually being able to do a pushup.  There sure is a lot of plank type stuff in part 2.  I've been doing the best I can but I think that I will be on this video for 3 or 4 weeks before I get it all figured out.

I'm only doing it a couple days a week so I'm still on level 1  :) How are you doing with the plank positions?

I'm getting better.  I've begun to wonder if while my left foot will never work the same as the right, I can still do plank stuff without it hurting/refusing to do what it's meant to!  I've also just got myself a Wii and I think that the yoga on there is helping too.

I got Jillian's Ripped in 30 days and started on the first workout yesterday.  I think I may have made it halfway through.  I have been going to the gym some so I didn't think I was *that* unfit!  She is kicking my butt in a good way at least :)

Due to the lovely British summer  :P I've started the 30 Day Shred today instead of jogging.  I made it through level 1 without any problems, I think the true test will be how sore I am in the morning!
I'm used to exercising every other day, so doing it every day will be a challenge.  However, I really like Jillian and think I can manage 20 minutes every day.
