two visits in one year.....how much is too much?!
« on: September 25, 2010, 08:35:23 AM »
Im back to the forum

however

our game has changed as he is going to have to wait til January to fill out the fiance visa

he had to work a few extra weeks.

I came to see him already for 5 wks at the beginning of the year

he's coming back from sea at the end of October and he wants me to come and visit him from nov 8th-dec 28th

then come back here and start on the fiance visa

however

wont the BorderAgency red flag me for coming twice and for long periods of time?

I know you can go for up to six months but lets face it
who ever gets to go for 3+months without being heavily grilled by border agency?

should I just get a two week plane ticket, and play it safe?
He got a flat
and has already paid it forward 6 months
because we thought we were going to be applying for the fiance visa in September.
now he has to work 4 extra weeks.

it just seems so wrong

cant spend TOO much time together
and then you dont seem to spend enough to satisfy the ECO for a visa
 ::)
how much is too much and how much is ok for a visit?

thanx

lelia

Do you have a job back in the US? Any ties to make the immigration officer feel like you will go home when you say you will?

Before I got married and applied for a spousal visa, I spent a lot of time in England. An example is..

November 05' I spent 2 weeks, June 06' I spent 4 weeks, November 06' I spent 2 weeks, summer of 07 I spent almost 2 months. In between those visit he came to visit me as well. I never had a problem with immigration. I always could show my return ticket, and I also had a job to go back to. I had been coming to the UK since I was 12 years old twice a year to visit my grandparents, and started coming a lot more once I met my future husband. So they could see I always went home, and I always made sure they knew I understood the rules on how long I could stay. The longest "grilling" I got, was after I already had my Spousal visa.

Just be truthful and have a return ticket, and you should be okay. Good luck!

I am a musician an an artist-i m self emloyed.

i HAVE to come back.
Ihave two children to think of

and my 7 year old had a melt down because she wanted me tomake her up as a kitten for halloween.

My ex has full custody
but he and I are on good terms and I help him with the girls in fact
im hre with the girls right now and going to see Daniel on Sunday.

We have decided to push off our marriage until next Spring. he wants to work a bi tmore and save more money, and my father is probably NOT going to make it past this  holiday season. Ive booked a flight from the 10th-28th of this month

I think 2 1/2 wks is long enough to visit atm
too many things going on at home.

and then he and I are going to work on a fiance visa with a proper lawyer after the new year

certainly that has to be enough evidence for the agent at heathrow!
all they have to do i make a call to my ex and talk to my 5 and 7 year old whom ive made a strict promise to be HOME in time for halloween! lol!
