Repairing a GMC Yukon
« on: October 11, 2010, 11:26:17 AM »
Friends of mine brought over their fairly new GMC Yukon-trouble is now there is something wrong with the fuel line.  They aren't having much luck in finding someone to look at it and determine exactly what needs replacing.
They transferred over with the military, but they haven't provided any suggestions for them.  The only thing I could think of was to contact a Vauxhall dealer to see if they could point them in the right direction.
Does anyone have any ideas where they can take their vehicle?  Somewhere in the south would be nice as they live in Hampshire.

the only thing i could really find is a website, your friends can tell them what the problems are and they can help determine it http://www.justanswer.co.uk/car/gmc

Hiya,

More than likely a Vauxhall dealer won't be able to help much.

What you'll need to do is find an American Car specialist and one that has experience of the GMC brand.

They are around, however it may be that you'll need to travel further afield to get to them, this is to be expected as there's GMC were never officially imported here.

To start your search, take a look here
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/forum.asp?h=0&f=186&mid=192101

It's a forum for USA car owners in the UK and through these posts there's plenty of recommendations of where to take the car.

I was sort of lucky with the Ford F150, I could go to a Ford Dealer and get the parts in, and they could work on it.

good luck!

Cheers, DtM! West London & Slough UK!

Another option is to contact GMC coporate headquarters explain the situation and see if they have licensed or authorized repair centres that they can recommend in the UK.

Agree with WebyJ.  The best thing is to just contact the manufacturer and find out who they'll authorize to do repairs under warranty.

In the event that there aren't any authorized warranty repair centers (which seems unlikely, but you never know), then really any reputable local garage should be able to handle it.  It's a GMC... it's not as if we're talking about alien technology. :)  There are really only so many ways to put a truck together.
