I am determined to visit Scotland before I move back to the states. I'd be satisfied with a 3-day weekend. Catch a Friday train to Edinburgh, spend Saturday exploring the Royal Mile, return home on a Sunday train. At least then I will have seen a tiny bit and can say "I've been to Scotland". My husband is less enthusiastic about travelling, can't see the attraction of visiting neighboring nations, isn't much help at planning this trip. I may have to do it alone, the planning and the travel.
I would greatly appreciate anyone's help and/or suggestions concerning the best time to visit, what not to miss, where to stay (especially where to stay!), how to find my way around, etc. Any ideas?
