ZUMBA!!
« on: October 24, 2010, 03:30:58 PM »
Ok forget 30 day shred since I like to dance and my wrists are not all that strong this is so much fun! (Yes I know it may wear off but what a great change of pace).

PLUS its a 20 min blast and seriously I am sweating after 20 minutes. Its so much fun and I am super happy and I think I will do this for awhile;-)

Anyone else doing it?

My parents go to ZUMBA class 3-4 times a week, for 1 1/2 hours each time!

They LOVE it.  Mom says Dad is not so good with the steps, so he just hops around and makes random motions (like karate chops)   :)  [smiley=heart.gif]

...the whole damn thing will turn
and return redefined, rearranged, rearranged...

I am not doing it yet! My sister goes to Zumba and loves it. There is a class on Monday nights in my area and I really want to go. Only thing is I haven't been able to find anyone to go with me. I don't like going to things like that on my own. At least not the first time. If I had someone to go with once then next time I would feel more comfortable showing on my own. In the mean time I go to Boxercise every Tuesday and Thursday night.  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

The ladies at my work have a Zumba club, so I may get to try it soon.  :)

I have friends who go to the classes and they absolutely love it

I keep trying to get them to come try real latin dancing- afterall, my latin band plays out quite often- and we've got an excellent dance instructor -

But they don't want to seem to try real dancing, just zumba   :-\\\\

That said, I had picked up some zumba DVDs a few weeks ago off amazon- as its a good thing to do at home, since I don't have time to go to the classes- only tried the DVDs once so far ( :-[  ) but I enjoyed it  :)

Wouldnt be wonderful if I could stream it and we could hold an online class LOL
Now we all would be accountable huh?

I aim to do this 3 times a week realistically and walk at least 3 as well...Now remembering to take my vitamin, that is a whole other can of worms

Are there home DVDs out there for this?  I was looking on amazon awhile back because it looked interesting, but everything was NTSC format (or whatever that is in the US) - nothing in PAL and our DVD player doesn't do both.  :(

Yeah, that's Region 1/NTSC (not PAL).  :(

Will have to investigate other resources, downloading, etc further.  :)

Enjoy MeShell!!!  :)

Our local salsa dancing teacher started teaching zumba (borrowed my DVDs!) because its so popular- Its another outlet for her to get some money and start to drag students to salsa dance class as well.
