Deja Vu...Worried About My Photos (WWYD?)
« on: October 26, 2010, 01:16:32 PM »
Way back (2 years and 3 months ago) when I submitted photos with my fiance visa, I was concerned I should trim the photos because I thought my application may be refused because the photos may not have been the right size. My worry was ridiculous, my visa was granted and now here I am applying for my Indefinite Leave to Remain...

We had photos done at Jessops (camera shop) last night and paid a gut-wrenching £14 because we mistakenly believed it would be cheaper than a kiosk, only to learn otherwise but too fed up after having them taken to tell them to leave it and go in search of a kiosk after the fact.

Anyway, after getting them home and comparing them to the photo guidance for the SET(M) form, I'm worried they may be too close up. Our head and chin wasn't cut out of the photo when he trimmed them, but on mine, my face takes up nearly the whole picture!

My husband has just sent the application off this morning via Special Delivery with the photos from last night. I'm partially worried there may be issue with the photos because of the reason I mentioned, but Jessops say they guarantee their photos and if something is wrong to bring them back with the receipt and they will re-do them free of charge. My only question, if anyone even knows the answer, is that if the photos are the ONLY thing wrong with the application...would they be inclined to refuse the entire application, or would it more likely be delayed? Either way, would they give you a chance to re-do a photo and send it in again?

Feel free to smack me and tell me I'm worrying over nothing again. I'll be so happy when this immigration nightmare is FINALLY over and I can quit hoarding paper documents for years and jumping through hoops.

I've had 77 views and no replies. ::llama face:: :-(

Perhaps I could have put it more simply...what are the chances of a visa being refused because of the photos? And if they're not okay, would they be more likely to allow me to just correct it if they're the only thing wrong?

Don't know, though I have an inkling that there isn't really a problem here. But the whole thing about the horse & barn door still holds  ;)

I really wouldn't worry about it. They won't refuse the visa but probably not accept the application if the photos arent correct, just send it all back to you & have you do the pics over again...which may throw a monkey wrench into things if you've waited till the last minute to apply...but seriously I wouldn't worry about it.
