"Country of residence" when booking a flight?
« on: November 01, 2010, 03:40:07 AM »
Ok, maybe I am reading too much into this...
I just booked a flight on American Airlines to fly to the US for a visit.  In the section where it requires you to put in your passport info, etc, it asks Country of Residence.
I'm technically living in the UK, but I'm not sure what difference it makes if I put US or UK... I don't know if it will incur different tax charges or something??  When I select UK as my country of residence, it just seems to ask the address of where I will be staying while in the US, and a phone number, nothing much further than that.
I'm not sure what I should put and if it really matters???

You put where you live, which is the UK.
