UK Passport
« on: November 03, 2010, 02:43:06 AM »
Hi,

How can my husband get an expedited UK passport? Or an emergency UK passport in the USA? We are moving over and I have a settlement visa and we can't wait the 6 or 8 weeks it will take or my Visa will expire.

Thanks!
Patiently waiting for visas!

If you have a spouse visa, it won't expire for another 2 years and 2 months (if you got your visa in early October)... all it means if you wait longer than 3 months and 28 days to enter the country is that you won't qualify for the next visa in 2 years time without having to apply for an extension of your spousal visa.

However, if you have the KOL Req'd stamp and will be taking the KOL test and applying for ILR in the next few months (before it goes away in July), it won't matter when you enter the UK, because you won't have to meet the 2-year residency requirement anyway and so the 3 months and 28 days restriction on moving doesn't apply to you.
