A hello from Florida
« on: November 13, 2010, 05:40:12 AM »
Hi. I am a British citizen and moved from the UK with my American wife to live in Florida three years ago.  My wife who is a US citizen lived in the UK for seventeen years before returning with me back to the US.  I know only too well the frustrations concerning immigration and dealing with the many cultural differences both from my perspective here in the US, and from her perspective when living in the UK.
I joined this Forum after reading some of the issues posted by members because I feel that I might possibly offer a little advice appropriate to our own experiences when specific issues are raised, and advice requested within the scope of our knowledge.

Hello, musician.

I married my wife 12 yrs ago last week, and she moved from UK to Florida.  She needed to move back, so we did so 2 months ago.  We are now in Bournemouth.

Where in Florida?  We lived in Winter Haven.

Thanks for your message.  We are in St Pete and enjoying life here, well particularly as it is cooling down now after the very hot summer !

Jacksonville here...  Contemplating a move to Norwich in the next year or two.  Dating a girl there now.  Only 42 more days till I land at Norwich Airport for a visit!

Hi musician & welcome to the forum!  Gosh I sure do miss the Tampa Bay/St Pete area - loved loved loved all the years I lived there (about 6-7 years), before I moved to northern England.  I lived in Tampa but worked in St Pete when I was there.

I still miss the weather, every single day!  Would take a hot humid summer Tampa Bay day over autumn/winter in northern England any day.  All that sunshine!  You are so spoilt.

That's how the light gets in...

I moved from St Pete last year to England to be with my UK husband here.  I miss it so much.  Such a great place to live.  We already talk about moving back there :) May have some questions for you as we are thinking about going back in the near future.

Hi, thanks for posting this.

This is certainly the best time of year to be in Florida.  Beautiful weather at this time of the year.  You can actually walk out now without getting caught in a thunder storm.
