Navy Brat Francophile
« on: November 13, 2010, 11:35:23 PM »
I've only posted one thread on here freaking out (apparently for no reason) about immigration officers, but since this whole English boyfriend thing doesn't seem like it's going away any time soon I figured it'd be rude to just post that and not introduce myself.  :)

I'm American, from all over, because I grew up a Navy brat - born in Florida, spend most of my childhood and adolescence in Virginia and Minnesota with some time in Italy and Guantanamo Bay in there, college in Washington State, currently in Wisconsin in graduate school. My love of France and all things French took me on a year abroad to Paris in college, then another year as an English teacher last school year. I met the boy in February just out of a not-so-good relationship with a Frenchman. (He ran away to Paris for two months out of frustration with his job.) When he went back to London and I visited him for a week, and then stayed the summer between the end of my teaching contract and the start of grad school. I plan to visit again for winter break (racked up the frequent flyer miles with all my France trips!) and he will be here for his first ever visit to the states on Friday.

Anyway, hi.  :D

Hi there!  I lived in Pensacola, so I know all about the Navy lifestyle.  Welcome to the forum!
