That's very nice news.  I hope they will be happy.  It will be interesting to watch a royal wedding from this side of the pond.  I still remember following Charles and Diana quite closely back home when they were married.

YAAAAAAY. I'm so excited to watch it. Jon is so not a royalist but he was happy to get a day off. Ha ha.

DH is already hoping for a summer wedding so he can have a celebratory barbecue. He doesn't care about William & Kate, but he just loves an excuse for a barbecue.  :-X

Selfishly I'm quite annoyed, as if our dates clash our venue is two minutes from Westminster Abbey and probably inside a police cordon.

The nerve of them!  They should consult you first.  ;)

I'm just hoping for the extra bank holiday off!

I'm looking forward to it.  I was too young to watch Charles & Diana but I remember watching Andrew & Fergie.

At least we know that they're marrying because they want to, and not because of any pressure from their families.  I do hope that the press won't go overboard with the "fairy-tale" stuff, though.  I'm sure Prince William is a nice guy and all, but I doubt very much that being married to a prince is any better than being married to any other man, when the positives and negatives are balanced.

Still, I am looking forward to seeing her dress :)

Did we have an official bank holiday for the Chas. and Di do? I remember watching it on telly but don't remember that it was a holiday.

Yet another St. Andrews couple! 1 in 10 St. Andrews students meet their future partner there, and that's two pairs of us who got engaged in October and are getting married next year! Obviously all the cool kids are doing it  ;D Fortunately they won't be stealing my thunder too much, as we're getting hitched in October and they're looking at spring/summer. ;)
Arrived as student 9/2003; Renewed student visa 9/2006; Applied for HSMP approval 1/2008; HSMP approved 3/2008; Tier 1 General FLR received 4/2008; FLR(M) Unmarried partner approved (in-person) 27/8/2009; ILR granted at in-person PEO appointment 1/8/2011; Applied for citizenship at Edinburgh NCS 31/10/2011; Citizenship approval received 4/2/2012

No babe in arms here. I remember being woken up at the crack of dawn (we were living in western Canada) to watch Princess Anne and Mark Phillips get married!
