Ooh, yay, my basic weather forecast for today was correct

! Yesterday afternoon we did some real-time analysis of weather data and we determined that today the showers over the north-east would continue and possibly bring snow showers in Scotland/North East England

.
The cold temperatures are probably going to continue for at least a few more days and there's the possibility of more snow too. We've got arctic air coming down from the north and there's a blocking feature high up in the atmosphere which is preventing the air from moving away... it could stay for a few days, or it could be even longer. The Met Office have severe weather warnings out for Northern Scotland and North East England until 11am tomorrow... Icy Roads and Drifting Snow.
