Thankfully the snow hasn't showed up today but I'd say this week we got about a foot of snow. At least that's how high the snow piled up on my patio table.

I managed to get the girls out in the pram on Wednesday but that was early in the day. By the end of the day the snow was so high I couldn't get through the snow. I'm getting a bit of cabin fever and the house looks like a tip.

On another note, has anyone seen this forecasting website? It's funny but due to the vulgar language used, I'll put it in a spoiler to spare sensitive sensibilities.

I brushed the snow off our bins today & I reckoned there was about 8 inches on them.  I don't think the binmen are collecting right now though?  The council website says all staff are being committed to gritting and snow removal.  Huh?  So the binmen also drive the gritters and shovel snow?

 ???

We have a lot of rubbish this week owing to having our Thanksgiving last Saturday, and the green bin is piling up too.  I'm sure we'll be okay.  I didn't want to drag the bins around to the front (through the snow) if they're not going to collect in the morning.  Hmmm.  :-\\\\

What gritters?!  ;D Oh well, at least it must be cold enough so your garbage isn't going to get stinky.

I love the website Ashley!  It's capturing my mood perfectly!

Mrs. R. - They aren't collecting ours right now either because the lorries can't get down some streets so everyone is suffering.  York is hoping to get around to us next week.

They've not collected ours either. Bins have been on the street since Wednesday. Not surprised.

Binmen collected here today but I'm not sure if they're Leeds or Harrogate.  We have a Leeds postcode but we pay Harrogate council tax.  We wander around somewhere in the middle.   :)

If you pay Harrogate tax, it'll be Harrogate that collects your bin, I reckon.

I'm not too fussed. They'll collect it when they do.

What I AM fussed about is our christmas tree. We have a fresh one delivered every year and it's been sitting at the DHL depot for the last three days, presumably without water. Trying to get ahold of the company to see what they plan to do but if it shows up in the meantime then I'm going to have to refuse delivery because it's probably won't last until Christmas.

More here today.  It absolutely paralised the city, because it fell down quickly and heavily.  All of the trains and busses were cancelled, and the motorway was pretty much shut down.  It was seriously only like 3, maybe 4, inches of snow though.  I guess since I'm from a part of the US that handles snow really well, I'm struggling a bit with snow not being dealt with very well here.

Fortunately some mystery train appeared out of nowhere and happened to be going my way, so it only took 3 and 1/2 hours to get home as opposed to never!  ;)

And here we are again....   I got caught in a heavy snow shower on the way to work... and a cold, bitterly wind!

*sigh*

At least we did a big shop last weekend, so we won't have to go out in it.

It's started snowing here in Leeds. It started out as rain but I'm now seeing white on the neighbours roof. It looks miserable out there.

So far, we're just getting rain, but they are predicting it to turn to snow at some point and us getting up to 10 cm by tomorrow evening.
