Shrimp cocktail (with REAL cocktail sauce!), shrimp scampi, crab cakes, mussels with garlic and white wine sauce, angel hair with marinara sauce, and broccoli salad - cold steamed broccoli with lemon, olive oil, and garlic. :) I love Christmas Eve!

Last night we had a friend over for a taco feast and one of the three intended evening treats. We couldn't manage any more food. I sent one of his other treats home with him and the 3rd can wait until we have people around on another day.

Today it is baked ham, mashed potatoes, lots of roasted veg and whatever else BIL and his wife are cooking up. Plus some yummy desserts. I can't wait!

Good for you!

Bolognese, a nice departure from Christmas foods.

My mom made amazing homemade mac 'n' cheese last night.

Hamburgers, the best ever homemade chips, some other kind of veg tonight! Yay for Mommy food!

There is nothing tastier than Mommy food!  ;D I'd rather have mom's cooking than anything else.

We had chili, and I sprinkled some shredded cheddar in mine.

Chinese takeaway - we needed a break from Christmas food!

We go to BIL's and they do the cooking. He does it so there is enough for everyone to  be miserably full without many leftovers at all, because they don't care for leftovers. I have really missed the traditional 'days of leftovers' from Thanksgiving and Christmas the last three years.  ;D

Tonight we are having whole wheat spaghetti, sauce with mince and mushrooms added, an garlic bread.

Leaving on Friday for holiday so I made a vegetarian "shepherd's pie" with all the leftover veg in the fridge.  ;D

Last night I roasted a bone in prime rib for a scant hour, the result...delicious medium rare on the edge, beautifully rare in the centre...ZOMG!

Served with roasted vine tomatoes, wet polenta, and a red wine/rosemary jus.

nom nom nom.

Tonight I'm making a sort of philly cheese steak baguette from the leftoves.
