Look at you, eating leeks all willy nilly!  :P ;D
Haha! I remember when I was living with my parents and wanted to make potato and leek soup... I couldn't believe how expensive they were! I had only ever eaten them here (and I guess that's why).

Tonight I'm making chicken and veggie stir fry and white rice for DH, MIL, and BIL.
Finally living with my Husband in London after 6 1/2 years together but apart... and loving my life!

I never cooked with them either, until I moved here. Actually, I have only really gotten into using them in the past year. Now that I've discovered I really enjoy them, I can imagine I will be grumbling about the price but buying them anyway from time to time once we move back to the States.  ::)

We're having Chinese as a last hurrah to lots of food in one sitting before the diet starts tomorrow.

Yeah, leeks were always an extravagance in the States. :D

We had pumpkin, parsnip, and apple soup (the apples were not sweet, but small heritage apples which I was struggling to figure out how to use) and sausages.

I went to J's parents house last night and his Mum roasted a turkey with roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, carrots, beans, broccoli, sage and onion stuffing, and gravy.
Plus she had apple pie and cream for afters.

She does almost all her food shopping in M&S and so it was all very nice.
I've never gotten food on my underpants!

Where did she get a turkey? I want a turkey and can't find one *pouts*

Not sure, either M&S, Tesco, the butcher, or maybe had one in the freezer from Christmas.

It is amazing how hard they are to come by here.

I can still get turkey's here in Stoke, I just have to go to Mackro's or Morrison's to get it. I know Costco in Manchester had some maybe 1 1/2 to 2 weeks back as well...

Chipotle-esque homemade burritos.  If Mohammed can't go to the mountain and all that...  ;)

Fish cake, green beans, and a bagel. Randomly put together because we couldn't be bothered!

We had prawn and egg fried rice with carrots, mushrooms, spring onions and orange bell pepper added in. It wasn't the healthy meal I'd planned, but easy for Mr Wisdom Tooth Pain to chew. Poor guy!

The one nice thing about having the husband home more is that he gets the itch to cook! (He's a trained chef, went to school for it and everything before he decided to start his job changing routines!)

Tonight's special? a whole roasted chicken and veg! Yum! (That bird only cost me £3.79 on sale the other day as well! Whoot whoot!)

Peppered pork chops, kale sauted in olive oil, lemon juice and garlic, with steamed potatoes and parsnips.
