Because I am busy tonight, J took me out last night for my birthday (its today).  I had a nice prawn gumbo starter and a chicken stuffed with black pudding and wrapped in pancetta, plus gravy and veg main course.  Plus a gorgeous wine from New Zealand.  (A bit of a hangover this morning, as we went out for a few pints first and finished the day with a wee dram of Benriach)

No clue on tonight's meal, as it has to be something pretty quick.

Happy Birthday, PB. :) Hope you've had a great day!

All this talk of curries made me hungry. So it's takeaway curry tonight! ;D

No inspiration or appetite. Soup?

Because I am busy tonight, J took me out last night for my birthday (its today).  I had a nice prawn gumbo starter and a chicken stuffed with black pudding and wrapped in pancetta, plus gravy and veg main course.  Plus a gorgeous wine from New Zealand.  (A bit of a hangover this morning, as we went out for a few pints first and finished the day with a wee dram of Benriach)

Sounds like it was fancy! I think I need some of that Benriach!

I made a quick/light pasta dish. Sauteed shallots, garlic, portabella mushrooms, zucchini, and cherry tomatoes in white wine and lemon juice tossed with angel hair and loads of romano cheese.

Well I know certainly do whinge about my job sometimes ( :-[)  but man one of the things I have to occasionally do (perks!) is entertain vendors/suppliers sometimes (even if it doesn't help the waistline!!)

So tonight it was:
Starter: Pan seared Wood pigeon, polenta, braised leeks, haggis timbale,
red wine & thyme reduction

Main: Pan seared Sea Bass, Velvet crab risotto, sakura, chilli jam

Pudding: Belgian Chocolate Cheesecake

Wine: Oooh they let me pick the wine for a change, heheheh  ;D, choose us Pugilist Cabernet Sauvignon, 2998, from Australia

All kinds of odds and sods of veggies from fridge + tin of tomatoes + garlic+ herbs+ tomato paste+capers+ tin of chickpeas + pasta + parmesan cheese  = dinner

Almost became escargot though after a rouge snail (from the allotment) tried to sneak in off my leeks...  :P
