Oh wow! I actually live up in Madeley...but no one knows where that is  ;D

Ohh!! Your not far off from Keele University! Ok! I think there's a pub somewhere over there called Broughton Arms or something like that?! My husband and I go over there all the time for a drink at the little pub there! (I seriously can't remember the name of it though!) Your only like 9 miles from where I live...I'm in a housing area right next to the Junction 15 Motorway...Until we move again in January that is! LOL! (Still staying in Newcastle, but decided to go to a smaller home.)

It's a Chilli night here as well!

I think the pub right off of the campus is the Sneyd Arms? We went a few weeks back for a meal while waiting to pick chicklet up from a birthday party. Her friend's mom is a professor so they live there on the campus.
We tend to stick to the pubs in the village though so we can walk  ;D The Offley Arms is our local although we have been known to walk a bit further to the Crewe Arms and the Old Swan.

Grilled swordfish with lemon basil garlic sauce (a bit like a pesto?), sautéed leeks, swiss chard, and roasted butternut squash.

The Sneyd Arms!! That's it!! LOL! Yes, that's the one we will visit sometimes! Once in a while we will go out to the Swan with Two Necks as well...But it's so expensive! So, it's been a LOOOONNNG time since we've gone back! I don't blame you for staying local and walking! Sometimes we do that too!

I think it's another soup night...Not sure, will see how I feel after this afternoon!

Last night, I made homemade cream of mushroom soup - recipe out of the Greens cookbook (Bresse Mushroom Soup).  It tasted delicious, but not hearty (chunky) enough for me for an evening meal so I was still hungry afterwards.  We'll have the rest for lunch(es) this weekend.

Tonight - easy Tex-Mex DIY burritos, spiced beef mince, pinto beans, tortillas & all the fixin's.  Also Doritos & Doritos brand salsa were on offer so I've got those for a starter.  Beer for DH & a cider for me.  :)

My husband has been out of town since Friday afternoon, so I'm making one of his favourites. Roasted lamb with garlic and rosemary, roasted parsnips, carrots, potatoes and onions, as well as a chocolate cake with homemade butter cream icing.

You're so nice.... My husband has been away since Friday as well. There's some leftover curry in the fridge for him. ;D

Leftover Tex-Mex (from Friday) = easy supper tonight!  :)

Currently plotting Top Secret Menu for tomorrow night - for DH's birthday dinner.  Off to do my shopping for it now.  (I can't put it up here until after the fact, in case he does any 'Guest' snooping, which he sometimes does on 'What's for tea?')  ;) :D

Tonight I'm making two meals. Sirloin with chips for hubby, and Burritos for chicklet and I. Hubby isn't big on Mexican so when chicklet and I get a craving for it, I make him something else that he likes.

I'm lucky that my DH will eat pretty much everything! My mom and I always had to cater to my dad's fussiness, so I appreciate being able to make whatever I want. And he could eat Mexican every day of his life... Had never had it before visiting me, and then was hooked.

Last night we had some leftover chicken wings, DH made some oven chips, and we had canned sweetcorn. I was so tired that we ate it in bed. ;) Tonight, kbeech06 has inspired me to make Mexican food I think! Either some fish tacos or quesadillas. :)
