To kick off Mardi Gras, J. Gumbo's is having an all you can eat offer today. We are headed there after hubby gets off work for a feast. I'm sure I won't get as far as my mind thinks I will, but I plan to have one entree and a Voodoo Nachos appetizer. I am sure that is where I will be miserable, if I even make it through the second one.

Last night I made a gorgeous Chinese BBQ styled slow cooked pork, which I shredded and put into a wrap with shredded lettuce/cucumber/carrots and had a side of steamed Chinese veg with ginger and a homemade Chinese style pickled cabbage

Not sure what's on the agenda for tonight- I'm quite craving chicken 'pucks' (patty) sandwiches and tator tots (would have to be the UK equivalent) - but I am not sure that's gonna fly with J or if it will even be something I will want later.....  Maybe homemade oven baked fish and chips - or maybe something completely different! Hmmm.....

Currently waiting for a ham, chicken, leek and potato pie to come out of the oven. It was only my 3rd attempt at making shortcrust pastry. First time was the beginner's luck joy of a lifetime, second time was a disappointment, and fingers crossed for tonight.  [smiley=chef.gif]

Ooh this sounds yummy!  How did you make the chops?

I made veggie chilli last night, which was much more spicy than I thought it would end up being.  I have leftovers for lunch and it will probably blow my head off.

I have a lentil and sausage casserole in the slowcooker for tonight.

Lamb stew last night, with home brewed beer added for flavouring

Tonight it's roast chicken with a herby mustard sauce, rice pilaf and purple and white sprouting broccoli and leeks from my allotment. The first sprouting broccoli of the season  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

I made a really awesome Thai curry with beef Friday night. It was so good that J wanted it again last night.  But we ended up making oven baked fish and chips with leeks/carrots/purple sprouting brocolli. All veg, including potatoes, from the allotment.   :)

I've got a pork, black bean and butternut squash chilli in the slow cooker for tonight. I'm drooling thinking about it.

Always good eatin' at your house! All those sound amazing!  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

Last night we had pork roast, potatoes, carrots, celery, mushrooms, corn and celery that had simmered all day in the crockpot.

Hubby is working late tonight, so it will either be a lazy pizza or leftovers from last night.

Mixed up a broth with the seasonings of last night's dinner and made a soup out of it. It was perfect for this cold evening.
