Cheap and cheerful here tonight.  Pork chops in a creamy mushroom sauce with potato wedges.

Tonight, I'm planning on doing a root vegetable korma (except it'll be a bit spicy as well as creamy) a la Nigel Slater.  We've got parsnips, carrots & swede for me to put in it.
This sounded so good that it inspired me. :) Had some root veggies that needed to be used as well, so we had veggie thai curry, with onions, leeks, swede, and carrots.

J and I were so hungry and so exhausted after our day- we treated ourselves to a meal out- even though we couldn't afford it-
We both had ham and vegetable soup as a starter and I had salmon in a walnut apple crust and cream sauce and J had a sea bass in pancetta and tomato salsa.  We bought a nice bottle of sparkling wine. A really nice ending to a crap day.
I've never gotten food on my underpants!

Glad to be your inspiration!  I always think that root veggie korma sounds kind of weird, but it's really nice.  :)

Tonight is the company Christmas dinner. However, I'm not going to work today because walking across the flat (or sitting, or lying down, or...anything) hurts like crap. :( So I guess I'm missing out on the dinner (which isn't the end of the world, but I feel bad that the company will have paid for food I won't be eating).

Chickpea, potato and kale curry cobbled together adapted from a recipe I've never used before.

Since it's so bleeping cold here, we decided that a nice curry might warm things up a bit.
