Weird... I get our milk from Aldi!  Maybe 'my' Aldi stores milk better than the Aldi near you?

Maybe the Welsh cows are better!  ;) ;D

I usually buy Cravendale... it's part of their  sales pitch that their milk is filtered to make it last longer, and so far, I've found this to be true.

You're not the first person I've seen complain about the milk here.  You're certainly not alone!  Having said that, and I'm not sure why my experience is different, but ours generally lasts beyond the date.  Our bread is alright, too.
My dairy lasts ages too.

We drink rice or coconut milk so that is never in the fridge long enough to go bad, but you may want to make sure your fridge is the right temp? When I had one starting to die back in the states, things started going off faster than they should.

That’s what I thought, but everything else is ice cold. Wine in the fridge stays well chilled, meats don’t go off......hmmmmm

Other thoughts.

Get a thermometer and put it inside where you keep the milk.  If you keep it on the door, those are usually warmer spots.

The back of my fridge freezes everything.  And I have a smaller fridge. The stuff on my door is never as cold.

I work in a mill bottling plant so kinda a dairy pro. The brand really wont make a difference in how long the milk keeps. Some brands do have their own supply ie Tesco and sainsburys. But usually whatever is leftover just gets thrown into the brands that don't have their own supply (aldi lidl coop)

The fat content in the milk will affect how long the milk will keep. Skim will keep forever whole will probably make it to the date.

If your really annoyed by this you can buy the extra filtered milk. Its pasteurized and then run through a filter. Then bottled in a sterile environment. The best before date is 27 days after bottling and we never have issues with this failing micro testing.

There's always "long-life" milk? Six for £4 at Tesco. Fine for coffee and tea. We normally buy skim milk for drinking and the long-life whole milk for hot drinks. We never have milk here long enough to go bad, but bread is another issue. If I buy a loaf of bread it usually doesn't make it a week before some mold appears. So I've taken to buying the "discounted about to go past sell-by date" bread at half the price, and get the same time-span out of it. Not quite sure why that's happening. Never happened in the States, but I suspect there were chemicals in that bread that are not in this one. Thankfully, the Daughter likes to bake and so I don't buy very much sliced bread these days, anyway.

Bet the birds love you!
I freeze bread when it's fresh and take it out a slice at a time as I need it. It doesn't keep well forever but at least cheese on toast is always an option!  :)

Wish I had room in the freezer for it! Right now the freezer is stuffed with fish, bell peppers, berries, bananas, etc.

I think the humidity here kills bread fast, that and probably no extra preservatives in it here, which is a good thing!

My husband now agrees that it is either the DC jack (unlikely), the motherboard (most likely), or an obscure Windows 10 thing that makes the computer think there's a problem with one of those two things. ...

Update:  It was the obscure Windows 10 thing!  My laptop lives!  It took some shenanigans to get enough charge into the battery to get it to power up, but once we got in, we disabled the Windows power manager thing, and the installed a patch from the Dell support site, and my laptop has been behaving as normal ever since.

I'm so glad I don't have to buy a new computer.  My husband's phone has developed a fault where it keeps rebooting itself while he's using it...  he's very sad.
