I'm really sorry all that happened to you, PB!  :(

Thanks.

On the plus side, my blood pressure was actually normal at the doctors. Amazing.  Considering my stress level at the moment.

Drove to Blooms near Rugby today to purchase 30cm pots for poinsettias.  Blooms had a gazillion pots last week.  Today not only were there no pots, but I couldn't find one sales person to ask about them. (Maybe the employees were sold along with the pots.) Totally discouraging.   :(

For the cold people - do you have hot water bottles/bean bag thingies?  Add one of those to your cocoon of blankets and it'll warm you right up! Things like duvets and fuzzy socks only trap heat if there's heat to trap - if you're really cold that won't happen any time soon  :-\\\\

I've had some sort of lurgy since Thursday night and I still feel like absolute crap. Sore throat, sinus headache, inside of my head itches, runny nose, pressure in my ears... Last Friday I had a low-grade fever and general achiness which thankfully didn't last but the rest is enough that I'm miserable without being bad enough that I need to stay in bed and just sleep. The worst part though, is that I caught this from my BF - he came down with it a week ago Monday - and he's still sick! I know people fight things off at different rates but I'm the one with the terrible immune system and I figure I'll be sick at least 4 days past his feeling better. The closest I have to a bright side is that I've collected drugs to match most of the symptoms and, while I still feel like crap, when I take them all* I don't much care.

And now there are guys on the islands behind our house hooting and hollering and lord knows what, but it's making my headache worse. Or maybe that's the pills wearing off. No reason it can't be both, I suppose.

*The girl at the pharmacy looked over my collection and made sure there weren't any interactions.

Oh believe me, I have heating pads, the rice microwave heat things, and even slippers with the beanbag things that go in the microwave to heat my feet.  I'm not a fan of hotwater bottles because I got scalded about 18 months ago by a hot water bottle that did not have it's lid on properly.  I still have the scars.    :-[

sorry to hear of your troubles PB.
Hope everyone that is under the weather improves soon.
My IA is the 9 year old-the cold that she has had for a while has now developed into something else.  I have taken her to the GP twice and apparently it is viral.  I suspect it is the flu.  She is pretty poorly.
It doesn't help that she has low muscle tone, so her coughing isn't very strong.

Well it's supposed to warm up to a balmy 6 degrees C this weekend.  ::)

Followed by more cold & horrible weather right through to the end of the year, so the forecasters have foretold.  I don't think I like them very much!  >:(

Sorry to all those feeling ill.  I had the misfortune of sitting next to a hacking woman on the bus ride home this evening, so who knows - I may be joining the sick ranks shortly.

Apologies, Mrs. R :(. Although, in our defence, we just interpret the meteorology into a forecast, and don't actually create the weather ;).

If it's any consolation, we're hoping the weather pattern will change too... unfortunately, these things can last for weeks, or even months (i.e. the heatwave in summer of 1976) and it's very difficult to predict when the weather pattern will change: just when it looks to be changing, the blocking system re-establishes itself and the cold air stays :(.

Oh, I strictly told my body to NOT become ill before noon December 15th. I think I was quite generous, giving me eight days of decent health health in exchange for the liberty to be ill for as long as it wanted AFTER my deadlines.  :\\\'( Lecture was difficult today. Could barely go a few minutes without sneezing, coughing loudly, or blowing my nose. Could barely keep my eyes open from being so congested  :(

The downstairs lady got annoyed today because one of my flatmates gave her the key to their room and had to lock the door. The other flatmates and me were gone so we couldn't lock the door. Of course, my other flatmate got super frightened that we were just going to get robbed so she called the landlord and he asked the downstairs lady to lock it. (I thought, oh well, if I get robbed, less stuff for me to carry to my new place ::) ) She got annoyed and was visibly irritated when I asked her to open the door for me--she had used the deadbolt. Why she couldn't just use the key that was given to her so that she wouldn't have to unlock it later because the rest of us still have our keys? Logic fail!

Not my problem that my flatmates whine to the landlord for every little thing. True, we really could have been robbed, and it's not a funny thing, but shoot! I'm just not bothered to care today!!!

I just wanna go to bed  :-\\\\

awww ryan - feel better and go to BED!

My IA: person renting my house said he was in Canada for the month didnt have his phone (I sent it his email too) and would deposit Nov AND dec rent last Wednesday - today? NADA and wont answer emails/texts/phone calls - its only 2K WTH....So now I am just trying to get rid of the bleeding house.  I have asked my EX who is on the mortgage if he just wants it and everything in it! He can have it - just let me stop stressing over this.  I paid the Nov mortgage but damn I don't have the December one as I wasn't expecting to pay another $1023 this month  ???
So I need some good thoughts and karma to hope the ex just takes the darn thing.  Such a beautiful house and only 4 years old ;-(
I even left it practically fully furnished! King size bed, leather couches and full guest room, computer, full garage of stuff - so mad this is happening.

Good luck with the house! Makes me so glad my tenant seems to be intent on paying on time every month (knock wood)...here's hoping that continues for the 15 more months I want her to live there.

zomg I wish I could have your house in Austin! I love my MiL but totally don't want to live with her when we finally move at the end of next year :/

my IA is sort of a double edged sword, my job interview yesterday went super well, the CEO said "well as far as I'm concerned, this has been fantastic" and that they'd let me know by the end of the week. I'm totally on edge waiting, the more I hear about this project the more I want to work on it, I just want to know! It would just be too perfect :/
