I'd come chat with you SP, as DD, DH & I all had it last year...and I had it twice! So I don't think that we'd have a chance of getting it again...
Thanks, Weby. :) Though if you got it twice, aren't you afraid of getting it a third time? I hadn't heard that it's something you can only get once...

I do remember that it took a good month before I could walk at all without wheezing and about 2 months before I could walk without breathing like I was a 2 pack a day smoker...you'll feel better just take it easy and rest.
Oh dear. :( Everyone else was telling me they felt crap for 2-3 days and was fine. I was wondering why I got such a raw deal when everyone else bounced back so quickly. So thank you for letting me know I'm not the only one to suffer for a prolonged period from this, though I hope it isn't quite as prolonged as that! I'm going to be very cranky indeed if I can't run for 2 months!

I chose not to take the Tamiflu so that may have been a reason why it settled in my chest as it did, but I can remember that it was a long time before I felt 'normal' afterward and about 2 months before my chest was completely clear. I could have developed bronchitins or bronchial pnuemonia from it but my GP was certian that it was swine flu on both occaisions (it was the 2nd time I was actually tested & it was postitive for swine flu).

Hang in there and just don't overdo it...I had an 18 month old to chase after all the time so I wasn't getting anywhere near the amount of rest that I needed so that probably allowed it to hang on as long as it did, so just rest...Can you see if you can do some work from home when you have periods where you dont feel as cruddy? Personally I wouldn't go to work just yet and  rest, rest, rest, rest...hope you feel better soon.

Ohhh, SP that sounds miserable! I really hope you start feeling better soon. I had a friend who came to London last year and ended up getting swine flu on the plane over. She was really ill for about two weeks and then was able to get about, but felt it hadn't completely gone for about another month. So it's not just you. But hopefully you'll bounce back quick. Rest up and feel better! (HUGS)

Day Nine of My Swine Flu Hell.

I honestly have no idea what I'm going to do tomorrow. I can't really afford to stay away from work any longer, but I have no idea how I could physically get there without fainting (walk the 35min vs wait 20min to stand on a crowded bus then walk 15min?), plus with this death rattle cough, I don't even know how much they want me there. And if I do decide to turn up at hospital again, are they even going to be able to give me anything to help? I finish the extra-long Tamiflu course tomorrow, but I've still got another week of the antibiotics they gave me.

I am very thankful that two friends insisted on coming over yesterday to cook for us. They made: a) veggie lasagna, b) Moroccan chicken, c) veggie pasta bake, and d) garlic chicken soup so that we can portion them off to feed ourselves this week, because I can't stand up long enough to make anything more than a sandwich, and my husband is exhausted after working all day and lacks dinner inspiration. So having them cook was really, really helpful, and as they've cooked in our kitchen before, they just got on with it and even cleaned up after themselves.

I was also really glad to have some social interaction after staring at the bedroom walls for a week with only my husband to occasionally talk to. It's very lonely when no one wants to come near you for fear of getting sick. :(

I'm so sorry.  It never seems to matter how sick people are eventually just sitting on the couch doing nothing all the time just makes a person stir crazy.   :(  I really hope you get better soon!!  And what great friends to come and stock you up with food!

Forgot mine:  People who can't share the road.  Look dude, you have a big SUV, I have a tiny honda civic, and you have the passing lane on your side of this single track road.  Please figure out how to use the passing lane.

Happy healing vibes to you SP and feel better soon!  And what nice friends to come make you some food!

My IA is still ongoing from last week- except now I'm travelling for 3 days for work and can't be around in person to deal with things.   :-\\\\

When mine was two I worried about the same thing! ;D  And then she discovered the joy of chicken! ;)  Now she is 6 yrs old and one of the best in this house to try new foods. Don't worry it will get better in a few years. ;)

Today is the first day where I'm actually feeling a bit better than the day before. Thank you for all your sympathy!! I'm working from home but am going to try to go in tomorrow...

My IA is that despite it being 16 degrees in the lounge and I'm sat under a blanket next to the radiator, my toes are still numb (through TWO pairs of slippers)! It boggles the mind...

Sounds like a lot of folks have cabin-fever -- already :(

My IA is the ongoing mouse saga: Last night Maxwell was very interested in something under the stove so I told DS to take the bottom drawer out (it's a plate warming drawer which I use only for storage) M. crammed himself in the gap to investigate. When he came out we could see in the far corner a nest of what looked like cotton balls ??? We fished it all out with a stick and vacuumed up the droppings  [smiley=bleck.gif] We were concerned that it was some kind of insulation material but it dawned on me finally that it's the stuffing out of a small throw pillow.  >:( Time for exterminators ...

I'm going to be hosting Christmas dinner on my junky plastic folding table  :\\\'(

To make a long story short, we ordered a new dining table set in early November, hoping that would give us enough time to get it delivered by Christmas. We were promised 2 weeks delivery when purchasing it.

That was 5 weeks ago. I just called the shop and found out that we should not be expecting delivery until LATE January. Uh, nice. I wouldn't have ordered the thing if we knew it wouldn't be here by 25 December.
