Now I'm dreading the possibility of making another mistake just because I don't want to have to hear about it.  Only 1 more week to go thankfully.  :-\\\\

Good luck! I hate micro-managers and drama-seekers, so I can sympathize.

I got a call from the embassy about my appointment for registering DS's birth but the guy failed to tell me that I can only call back before 12:30 or something and he got his number wrong! So now I have a day of worry about why they called.

And it's snowing again.

Sorry she's giving you a bad time, NOT. DS is doing seasonal temping in retail but they've been very good to him (although his feet hurt) and don't quibble about fixing any goof-ups. Like when a customer wanted individual gift receipts for about 15 items and so he had to void what he'd started on but it messed up the register. The manager just came over and showed him how to do it. That's what a good manager does.

I hate my job as a seasonal temp.  It's not even the crowds or the customers that's the problem but my supervisor.  She takes her job way too seriously.

I made one mistake on the till and she lectured me like I was a 10 year old saying it was far too busy to be making mistakes and that I need to pay more attention and be vigilant (her word).  ::)

FFS I've been working there for 3 fracking weeks and I made ONE mistake.  ONE!  I've done her job back in the US (same tills and everything) and voiding a transaction is hardly the production she has made it out to be.  Just STFU, fix it, and let me get on with it!

Sounds just like my old manager at the first shop I worked in in the UK.  Don't let it get you down, you could probably do her job and then some.

Thanks guys.  :)  I think I just need to keep reminding myself that it's just a stupid temporary job anyway and to not worry about it too much.

If I were meant to be staying on for longer, it might be different. But, since I'm mostly meant to be a warm body that can run a till for 4 hours a day until Christmas I'm just going to keep doing my best and hope I don't have too many shifts with her on.

This is a minor one...

I want a bagel.  But, since I woke up mom and car have been gone and there's no fricking fracking food in this house.   :P

Just got an email from my old supervisor who is now the Program Manager with my old office...unfortunately they cannot provide me with a letter confirming that I am eligible for reinstatement and I cannot start the process until I return to the US...which may not happen since I needed that letter for my husbands visa application so yeah...and if I have to wait till we're back in the US it will be at least 4 -5 months before I can start working again (good old government, takes forever to get the job).

Things just keep getting better & better.  :\\\'(

I had to cancel my trip to Delaware today due to crappy weather.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Amazon, you are truly craptastic!

I placed an order on Monday for next day delivery. Yesterday I still had not received the package and contacted Amazon. They said that the package was lost and I could either have the items re-sent or get a refund. I instructed them to re-send the items. When I got no confirmation of shipment, I contacted Amazon again only to be told that they're not satisfied the package is lost and that I have to wait longer before they're willing to re-send the items. So why did they send me the email in the first place telling me they were awaiting my decision??? I'd have them cancel the entire order, but for half the stuff I have no idea where to go out and buy it in person.

I'm feeling that way about Amazon.  We ordered a few things next day delivery and it took a week.  One says that is has been dispatched but no sign of it yet.  We are now nearly at 10 days!!  I'm so not impressed.  And with heavy snow on Sunday, I bet we won't get it next week either. :(

OMG! Ten days?!?! :( I really hope it comes through for you! I think I'm going to need a back up plan as the order was all presents for the Husband and Things 1 & 2. (stuff they specifically asked for :()

Yeah.  Our last one is for a friend's baby.  She's only 1, so she might not notice, but her parents will.  I'm looking at back up plans on Monday.  :(

And a second IA for me: my wisdom teeth are still causing me grief and agony. It's been going on for days.

I know on the grand scheme of things my IA is minuscule to most of everyone else's IA lately but it still annoyed me though!!  ;)   [smiley=beadyeyes.gif]

While Dh & I were home I did some shopping in Vicky's Secret they are having a secret reward gift card that can used on anything in store from Dec 1st - Dec 19th the value's are $10, $50, $100, or $500 dollars off your purchase I got 2 cards an I thought I left them both for my sister. well come to find out I had one left in my purse so I thought I would try an use it online I found a few things I liked. so I go about my business checking out with cost of what I picked out which was on sale big time & shipping to the UK it was nearly $80. :o Dh said if I got the $50 or higher reward card I can use it if its not I told him I didn't want to get anything that's just throwing away good money especially after all the shopping we recently did while home. I got the $10 card grrr >:(  I don't care how nice Vicky's bras are 2 Vicky's Secret bras aren't worth $80 bucks to me!! ::)  :P I knew the chances of me getting the $50, $100, or the $500 card were waaayyy slim but I had to try anyways. ::)  :P
