My Freaking toes are like icicles an I have 2 pairs of socks on!!  >:(   ::)

Try one pair of socks, then a plastic bag/plastic wrap on each foot, followed by a second pair of socks. You may sound like you're wearing a diaper when you walk, but your feet will be warmer than you can imagine! (Or you can just go the heated slippers route.) :)

My IA: I've been ill for a few days and it's just coming in slow stages. First it was a sore throat for a few days, I lost my voice, then developed a fever a day later, and now two days later I'm coughing up loads of mucus... and I think I saw a bit of blood.  :-\\\\
I urge you to please notice when you are happy, and exclaim or murmur or think at some point, 'If this isn't nice, I don't know what is.' Kurt Vonnegut

I just got a notice from Parcel Force that they're holding a package for me from the states (presumably Christmas presents from my family) and it's been hit with £32 of VAT plus Parcel Force's £8 service fee. FFS!!! My family knows the drill ... low monetary values and to mark off "Gift." Right now I still have to finish up my own Christmas shopping and I don't have an extra £40 in the budget to pick up this package. Every year I suggest to my family they buy stuff off of our Amazon wish lists, but they insist on doing it this way. And half the time I get hit with a hefty Customs charges.  >:(

ETA my angry face.

I have a whole slew of IA's today...

DH is coming down with a cold, so I guess I know what I'll be getting for Christmas!  :-\\\\

I dreamt about my mother's house just before I woke up.  Well it is that time of year again.  :(

Both of my brothers in the US arranged to send us Christmas hampers - which is a nice thing.  One of them arranged for his to be delivered between Dec 13-17, but nothing turned up!  (No 'we tried to deliver' slip, no communication, nothing!)  The other brother (after I explained when we were going to be away) tried to rearrange delivery of what he ordered so it could be sent to us this past week - he emailed them TWO weeks ago for that.  They finally emailed him back on Dec 16th saying it's too late for the delivery to be rearranged - well I imagine it is too late, come Dec 16th!!  But he had contacted them TWO weeks ago about it, not as late as Dec 16th.  As it stands, we probably won't get any of this until the new year now!  So crappy customer service rules again.

I don't mind really if we don't get the hampers until the new year, but I mind on my brothers' behalf - because they are disappointed & also it might discourage them from actually sending us stuff in the future.  Booo!

ETA:  Can we just be done with this winter already?!  >:(

ARGH!  I have turned into a snotty, sore-throated mess in the past 24 hours and I can't take anything.  I decided I'd live on the edge and have some tea with honey and lemon.  I know, I know tea and honey are both on the no-no list for pregnant women.  But it helped a lot.  Mmmmm.

Woke up with a nasty chest cough. :(

Why do I always end up sick right when I'm starting a new job? Think this has happened with every single new job. (Though for the first two, I was just sick constantly, and this last one I got sick from people at the new job.)

I am sure they are opening and going thru stuff on PURPOSE to get more money during the holiday season.  I am glad you wrote this and reminded me as my father has sent a pic of what he is sending and man I just emailed him and said break that up in 2 boxes or I main as well pay for it!  I think personal gifts and things for personal use shouldnt get nailed by those fees.

Walked in the door after our flight from the US to water all over the floor, soaking wet carpet, and a completely shorted out kitchen. Great.  :-\\\\

Can a person fight the charges! I mean you may not get it before Christmas and there may be paper work to file but still...Is it possible? I would totally fight it if I know I could.

My IA...Working on a Sunday NIGHT! It's me weekend off (I work every other weekend) and I get stuck doing a Sunday night to top it off!  >:(

Trying to get home last night.  Journey that should have taken 35 mins took nearly 3 hrs and we were nearly hit by a lorry!

What a horrible welcome home.  :(

Trying to get home last night.  Journey that should have taken 35 mins took nearly 3 hrs and we were nearly hit by a lorry!

I hate that.  Once here they stopped the buses and told no one.  I waited for over an hour but had no cash to get home by taxi.  I ended up in a taxi with this really nice lady who offered to pay for my whole ride home, but I declined.  I still had to walk over a mile to get home.  I think I started at 4pm, and got home after 7.  Yuck.

My IA is dh has a horrible cough which is waking us both up at night.  It's horrible and he won't take anything for it.  Finally last night he took some Benylin and then he woke up while I was sneaking some vicks vaporub on his chest.  This has got to stop.  I need some sleep!

Why can't you have tea or honey??

My IA: the ex wants to send the kids back home early this weekend (they've been at his place). That's not fair to me OR them. :(
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon
