I am working towards that but conference calls dont just stop...People who have remote access can work form home and pay the others that don't - SO UNFAIR!
I have said the office will be open and we will monitor the day and decide then....My Night people are already working from home since no air all day it will be an OVEN at night...Of course the owner is sitting in Hawaii for 2 weeks and doesnt care lol
on that note
No raises for 3 years but she can jet off to HI for 15 days first class no less (she left her stuff on the printer, thats how the whole office knows)

Sympathies. This + fever was pretty much how my swine flu felt for nine days. :(

But on the upside, once it passed, I've felt much better. I'd say I'm back to about 90% now, and last Tuesday was my first day back at work.

Glad you're feeling better! I hope I don't feel this gross for 9 days...

I hope everyone that is ill will have a speedy recovery!

My IA is that I have an infection and the effects are rather antisocial. At least when I had fever I could go outside. I'll spare you all the disgusting details, but now I have to cover up my face otherwise I'm sure that I'll frighten people away. I'm even too embarrassed to go into the kitchen for the chance that I might run into my roommates. I'm just in so much pain and I'm so bored. Agh, what a perfect way to start the holiday  [smiley=bigcry.gif]

My piece of crap ex-boyfriend didn't answer my email about whether or not my secret santa gift has been delivered.  I don't know if he's staying at mine (used to be ours) and I don't know if he's checking mail.   >:(

Slept for approximately 5 hours last night in an 11 hour time span. :( Still have a fever, and still feel like total crap.

Guess at least if I still have a fever in 2 days I can go back and get actual help for this. Unless my needing a breather after walking 10 feet counts as "excessive shortness of breath".

So I'm finally feeling well enough to go to work, but my trains are running a reduced service. Problem is, after several bad experiences on overcrowded trains, I'm now severely claustrophobic and couldn't bring myself to get onto any of them when they're so packed. My boss knows my train line is complete rubbish and that I've been ill the past few days, but he's told me that I need to get to work from now on and need to at least find an alternative way in when my trains aren't running properly. I thought I would get used to the commute and the crowding, but it's been almost three months of commuting and I've made no progress despite starting to get help from a psychologist.

I'm currently on a temp contract but he had talked to me about becoming permanent soon - I'm now feeling guilty about being so pathetic with transport to the point that I think I need to tell him that he should find someone more reliable. Either that or I need to move closer to work, which would either mean forcing my BF to move further from his job or finding a new place for myself and us not living together. It feels like there's no way to win in this situation - I like where I work and I like where I live but I can't handle what's in between.
I urge you to please notice when you are happy, and exclaim or murmur or think at some point, 'If this isn't nice, I don't know what is.' Kurt Vonnegut

Two gripes:

1. A small amount of snow yesterday meant everybody went home early (my normal time is 4:00) so the subway and bus were hysterically overcrowded -- standing room only.

2. Maxwell needs an assistant for his mousing exploits. Wasn't fast enough to catch the little blighter last night and caught one this morning but then managed to let it escape!  :-\\\\

I hope everyone starts feeling better soon.

I am having no luck ordering things online. The coffee table we ordered for my sister's upcoming visit wasn't delivered yesterday when it was arranged, no one contacted us to tell us of the delay and the number I was given to ring if there were issues is dead and when I rang the company we ordered it from I was given another dead number. Sigh.

And then there's the visit which is in itself another ia with me telling hubby if he can't get over the attitude he can go stay somewhere else I've been here 5 years and this is the first family that's visited and I'm not particularly looking forward to it either but they are finally coming.

DH is stuck at work waiting for the Area Manager, Regional Manager & Regional Director to show up from the Head office...He's been there since 6am this morning...but apparently it's 'vitally important' that he has to stay for some reason...the store manager is there, why can't he deal with it...but no, my husband, the trading manager has to stay...he was there for 13 hours yesterday...do you think he's going to get paid for it, big fat NOPE!  [smiley=beadyeyes.gif]..plus they text & phone him when he does finally get home >:(

This and not hearing from any of my family, no card no nothing after we spent all that to send them packages this year not to even bother with a flippin card [smiley=furious3.gif]...and DH's mother...and not hearing from the Embassy...and waiting on my letter from the Home Office..and finding out I can't even start the paperwork for my rehire in the US until we GET to the US [smiley=shout.gif]...UH I NEED THAT TO GET TO THE US TO BEGIN WITH! [smiley=bomb.gif]

I'm beginning to hate Christmas as much as I hate my birthday...Roll on New Year, this one's getting worse with each passing day.   [smiley=end.gif]

:( Any recourse to a hot bath and a glass of wine, Weby?

My IA is that I was 90% done writing a lengthly blog post when my computer froze. Now I know I should've been saving it as I went along (and I usually do!) but my computer hasn't crashed in months and months. And then when I restarted, Firefox lost ALL its session data. So all 5 windows with countless work tabs open in them? Poof! Gone! :(
Summer 97 - first visited friends in London
99-00 - studied at Uni of Sussex on exchange
Feb 02 - moved to London on BUNAC

March 09 - Citizenship!
July 09 - bone marrow transplant :(
18 Sep 10 - wedding!
Mar 12 - half marathon in Paris! 1:47:12!
Oct 12 - Amsterdam FULL marathon! 3:48:23!

I hate not knowing if E’s plane will take off tomorrow or not.  I hate knowing that if it doesn’t take off there is a very likely chance that he will not get here in time for Christmas.  I hate thinking that if he isn’t here I won’t go to MD to see my family because, what if he showed up and then had to be in NYC alone?  If he doesn’t make it at all he will be alone in London.  I hate inclement weather and England’s seeming lack of snow plows and just plain snow preparedness!

I know that there are resonable explainations for everything, but I just don't care!

Unfortuately, no. But I will ply myself with coffee & pizza in a bit once the monster child has gone to sleep.
