This is really my son's IA: He was at the nearby Super Stop and Shop the other night where they have a Dunkin Donuts counter. So he went over to get his doughnut fix. As he approached he saw the server leaning against the wall with her shoes off and Picking Her Toes!!  [smiley=sick.gif] He immediately turned on his heels and retreated. (Later he emailed their head office and reported it)

Why would you do this in public? Let alone at work? Ugh.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.  That's so very, very wrong.

On the other hand, the thought of a Super Stop and Shop with a DD counter makes me swoon.

IA:  No way to get my DD fix in London (although I'm bringing coffee back for the machine when I go home in 2 weeks).

My IA today: I went shopping for boots in Bristol last week and I found some really nice ones, but they didn't have my size... so the store offered to send the right size to me by home delivery. I had them sent to Exeter because they wouldn't have arrived at my parents' house Bristol in time, and so I came home from work yesterday to find a 'sorry you were out' card. I went to the post office this afternoon to pick them up... unfortunately, there was a massive queue and I waited in line for 30 minutes only to find that the package hadn't arrived back yet and wasn't there :(. Now I have to wait until they call me to say that it's ready to be picked up - problem is, unless I can get them tomorrow, I probably won't be able to pick them up until the end of next week because I'll be at work during their opening times :(.

Can you get them redelivered to work?

Mine is my bank, I'm trying to pay off a loan with them, from money in my bank account, they flagged the transaction as suspicious and blocked it. I've spoken to five people so far and seem no closer to paying off my loan or getting my card unblocked.
Obviously it's some sort of nexus of the universe issue if you try and pay the bank money from your bank account.

I'll look into it - I think it might be too late now though as they took my phone number and details and are going to call me when it's there (the guy checked that I hadn't rearranged the delivery via the internet or anything).

My IA-

Had a Meet & Greet with a potential client yesterday (I provide homecare for developmentally disabled children.)  The poor child was sick with a stomach bug, but the meeting still went well.

I got the client, and the stomach bug.  Yuck.

If you need me, I'll be within 10 feet of the bathroom all day.

Well obviously, they're not going to make money off you with your paying the loan off like that!  You must have some nerve (from the bank's perspective)!  :P

heh heh, they just told me as they'd tried 3 times today (when my card was blocked  ::) ) I'd have to call back on Monday, yay.

I don't think they understand that if I pay this them I'm 100% debt free (aside from my student loan which I don't give two figs about) which will be an awesome feeling.

No, it is very traumatic getting teeth out -- not just physically but emotionally. They are a part of your body and it is depressing to think part of you no longer functions. Thank goodness it is something you can "replace" and nobody is the wiser.

Also- you aren't supposed to suck through a straw for at least a week! It could knock out a blood clot & lead to infection. It took me about 4 days before I could start eating normally and a week before it felt comfortable. Hope you feel better soon!

Oh--glad you told me, Thanks!  I can have liquids now and it's OK for it to touch, but I must be careful about the blood clot.

I have to try to drive back to the Leeds Ikea because one of the bits for the tv stand for my new tv that's only just arrived has a huge chip in it.  I am never, ever, ever buying a new piece of furniture or large electronic item again.

Oh, if you do get any bleeding you can put a wet teabag  ;D on it as a compress -- my dentist told me when I had a tooth out. Hopefully you won't!

Woo! As someone who got debt free (except for my house mortgage, which is covered by a tenant, and the house will be sold within 18 months), I can certainly attest to the "great feeling" bit. Good work! Hope the bank isn't too annoying about letting you pay off the loan. Thanks to doing international transfers, my last loan payment didn't quite meet the payoff amount so I had to make another transfer of $0.78 to actually really be done with the loan. ;)

My student loans totally don't count, seeing as they have no interest, don't affect my credit rating and are paid through the tax system, but as i pay £3K a year towards them (gah!) they're almost gone as well. I'm quite excited by the prospect of being totally debt free.

*poke poke* let's go spend money on going out, we're rubbish at organising things :)
