Can you get some kind of chemical to make the water safe instead of boiling? That sounds pretty unfortunate. :(

I don't know, there might be but if there is I don't know anything about it.  :-\\\\ I think part of the problem is that the water could be safe, but they weren't able to test it properly until the main was fixed so it's all precautionary. They're testing today, but it could go into tomorrow. We buckled down and boiled a bunch last night so that it would at least cut down on how much we might have to do today.

Why is it that I have loads of energy at work, but lots of times (like today) on my day off I feel exhausted?  ???

I probably overdo it at work.  That's my answer right there.  :-\\\\

Everywhere else in the country is having lovely, sunny and (allegedly) hot weather.

We're at 14C, with so much mist and fog you can hardly see your hand in front of your face.

This must be what J.K. Rowling had in mind when she was describing the effects of Dementors.  Every time I look out the window, I feel like I'm never going to be happy again. :(

Happy Birthday Courtney!

My IA: Last year I started getting some sort of reaction to caffeine (and this is me drinking soda pretty much all my life - so pretty random) so now I occasionally only drink store brand cola (for some reason the amount of caffeine seems ok). But lately when I drink it I've been getting a headache. Well, I don't know what makes me the maddest, the fact that I didn't check the label for gluten or the fact soda has gluten in it, which is just silly. So having my last farewell glass - going to have heck of hang over symptoms later. I drink maybe 5 glasses a year so not a huge issue but this is just silly I'm done with soda!

Is it regular soda or diet? I have that same reaction to diet sodas due to the artificial sweeteners.

Same here.. we hit 105f today, with humidity that just doesn't know how to quit. Odd how I sat for three summers in England, wishing it was warmer, but not too hot, and now I am pining for my English summers.

We haven't gotten quite that high, but we're apparently going to be at 98f today. I can do alright if I'm just sitting in front of a fan on my couch and not moving, but today I have to go into Manhattan at the hottest point of the day to pick something up from the dentist. Very much pining for Scottish summers myself. I am not made for this!  :-\\\\

No CharmCG, this does not have any sweetners in it, thankfully. I also have had bad reactions to sweeteners. (I saw sweeteners listed on tomato flavored crisps the other day if you can believe that!!) So hard to find anything that doesn't have sweetener in it. (Even stuff not labeled as diet or sweetener mixed with sugar! - makes no sense to me)

This soda was the Tesco brand cola in a red label. It contains barley malt extract. A related IA - why am I allergic/intolerant/sensitive to everything! I'm waiting for the day when my body rejects air...  ::)

I've got gluten issues too and it's always the damn barley malt that gets me. Makes me so mad.

My Aunt flow is town I hate that I have to have it but hate it even more when she doesn't come. Because the next month's cramps are more than twice as bad as the previous month. I really hate having PCOS big time cause I never know if she is even going to come or not.  ::)  :P
