Slowness does seem to be universal.

The Registry (in Massachusetts) has been shutting down offices like crazy.  They've shut the big one in Boston and are now closing more and more of the suburban ones.  At least when I sold my car back to the dealership I could get them to handle returning the plates, etc. so didn't have the hassle of getting to a Registry with no car!

Indiana is and has been shutting some of theirs too in the last several years. I get that the world is changing and they are trying to get everyone to do it online, but that doesn't always work for everyone, especially those who aren't comfortable with computers and the internet. That is changing rapidly, but there are still some holdouts. Plus, sometimes it is just convenient to pop in as you are driving by instead of waiting for something to be mailed to you.

Even when you do it online, it doesn't always go smoothly. Mom ordered hers in plenty of time a couple years ago, but due to a few weeks of backlog, she drove on expired plates for over a week, with just a piece of paper as proof she had ordered them. Hubby ordered ours online last year, and they came to our correct address, but with the county we used to live in.

I did my car registration online, and they sent it back to the DMV twice...not sure why, I just kept getting messages that it had been returned. I drove on expired plates for almost a month! I finally had to go in to the DMV and wait for over an hour for them to reprint my registration and give me a new sticker.

Men who decide to clean out a blocked up (smelly) drain wearing their hand-wash only wool pullover and light-coloured trousers.  And I'm supposed to be grateful.   ::)

Over 60 inches of snow in 2 weeks, and another foot forecast on Thursday - please make it stop !   Before my snowblower breaks or the house roof collapses.   :(

I've been seeing Boris Johnson tromping around in it the last few days. Looks dreadful!

It's all Boris' fault.

It's all Boris' fault.

All the hot humid air coming out of his mouth met the arctic front coming down from Quebec and this was the result.

Poor Boris!  ;D I don't keep up with his politics and such, but he has some snazzy hair!  [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

Forgot why I came here!  ;D

We came home to find several huge crows on the shared deck, trying to tear into the neighbor's three trash bags that have been sitting there for a few days. We were discussing calling the landlords about it because not only is it an ongoing situation, it is getting worse. Joey was freaking out because of the crows making so much noise right outside the door. He is used to the ducks and geese, but the crows had him on edge. I don't blame him. Hubby sat by his cage and talked to him, calming him down. I was dialing the landlords, and heard the guy next door come out and take the bags out to the bed of his truck.

We've reported them several times in the past, then gave up. They'd be told to get rid of it then go right back to it. We gave up for a while, but it is getting worse, and we can't have Joey terrified all day while we are at work because of crows outside the door. Plus, with spring coming it is going to start stinking worse.

If you lived in Boston they'd be encased in 3-4 feet of snow, and with the temperature in the teens/low 20s they wouldn't smell.

So the solution is to move to Boston.

Yeah, but just wait 'til the spring thaw (if it ever comes  ::) )

I would love to move to Boston for the snow. Indiana just doesn't get the snow it used to. :(

I suppose we will just have to mention calling the landlords, where they can hear it. That seemed to work.  ;D
