I went to 5 hotel rooms with Rene Russo and one with MC Hammer.  I delivered a fax to Kevin Costner (horn dog) and Cheech.

Had two friends who rock climbed with Eddie Van Halen.

Ok... I remembered a few more if we're really stretching it.

I was a band geek in high school and our drum major went on to become an actual musician and wrote a song that was played at the end of an episode of Grey's Anatomy (I think it was Grey's Anatomy... or maybe it was the spin off, Private Practice).

One of my fellow summer camp staff members went on to be a crew member of the Lady Washington which was the ship used in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl for HMS Interceptor. He helped sail it down to the filming location but injured himself and didn't make it in the movie, although he is in the extras on the DVD.

The Lady Washington also happens to be docked near where my grandparents lived and we would occasionally see it sailing around the coast near my hometown. When it was docked, we'd sometimes go down to the harbor to visit it, but I don't think we ever went on it.

Been on The Lady myself, offered a job even! Lived on George Peppard's ranch as a kid, chatted with Shirley Temple, had lunch with Nixon once, and Motley Crue...separately of course! Once spent an hour talking to Mel Gibson.

Hmm. Famous? Never chatted with any of them. Just seen them.

I rarely recognize people out of context though. Haha.
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

I've had run-in's with some famous people. I don't think I can remember all of them because it's mostly musicians, but I did meet Toby Maguire once when I was like 12 or 13? I was in NYC with my parents, and we saw a crowd outside one of the late-night talk show doors and it was Toby when he was promoting the first Spiderman movie. He only signed autographs for the kids so I managed to get his autograph as he was heading in to the building.

Other than that, I met Frank Turner at Reading Festival. I met the singer from Anti-Flag at the Vans Warped Tour in 2007 (or around then, I can't even remember haha). I know there are tons of other people in the music scene that I had met or been exceptionally close to (I got to watch Les Paul play in NYC in a tiny cafe) but like I said, totally drawing a blank.

Fun fact though : The figure skater Nancy Kerrigan practiced in my home town and her parent's lived there. I did meet her several times as I took skating lessons when I was a kid at the same rink and they were directly after she would practice. She is....not a very nice person....but there's far worse people lol

You know, honestly, some of the most friendly wonderful people I've ever had the privilege of being involved with are the members of this forum. The love, support, humor, and encouragement from everyone is just beyond belief.

Definitely agree! I am constantly sending people, like from Reddit's expat sub, over here for answers because the people are so knowledgeable but also so wonderful!

Is that the Peppard from the A team?  What did he say about mr T?

What was Nixon like ?  And Motley crew and especially Mel Gibson?  MG seems like he should be a real jerk but Jody Foster was his friend.
Enquiring minds want to know.

Can confirm.  I want to know what MG was like.  How long ago was the conversation?  Was he as... um... unstable(?)... as he seems in more recent interviews?
