chipping ice off my car and the steps today plus not having proper winter weather boots made for a lovely start to the morning.
When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ~ John Lennon

Out of the kindness of my heart I took time out of my day to look over a distributors report.
I pointed out various spelling and grammar mistakes, which he said are fine since I "do not understand British grammar". I had no idea double negatives were appropriate in a business report here ::).

I also pointed out the product he selected for the client is inappropriate and told him what would work instead as well as how to comply with certain laws that he was ignoring. He just got really annoyed that I would critique his assessment of the client and said since I am a designer I could not possibly understand these things.

Of course my boss got back to him today with all the same remarks I made and now he is throwing a fit at me that I didn't check his report properly.  >:( From here on I am only helping him out the door!

How annoying!  That'll teach you for doing something nice for someone ::) So sorry that happened to you!

My IA: Something sort of similar, on the topic of language...someone had the nerve to call me illiterate because I'm American. My lecturer scolded him, but still, what an ass!

My IA: being late for work this morning and having it have nothing to do with the weather.  Not to mention, because I was running late, I forgot my lunch and my umbrella.    :-\\\\

You'd think it was Monday!

I am soooo looking forward [not] to going home tonight -- or trying to. My street's sidewalk was crappily plowed by the town so you practically break a leg walking on it. Walking in the street means you'll probably be mowed down by a snow plow. And then there's the ice ...  >:(

The crisper in my fridge has apparently decided to become an extension of the freezer.  Normally, I would welcome some extra freezer space, but now all my veg is looking a bit sad.  Hopefully my lettuce can recover so I can have a salad tonight.  :-\\\\

I know!

Luckily, I was able to get home for lunch, but the city is just a big mess.  When I left, it turned to rain and everything was super slippery...and don't even get me started on the sidewalks...ugh.  Be careful getting home later tonight.

I have done this before!  Went through an orange thing and a grapefruit thing.  Maybe you need the vitamin C?

I spent so much time and effort (not to mention a ridiculous amount of stress) getting a letter from my university since I didn't have my official certificate from my MA to apply for a visa. Finally sent off my application on Friday only to receive an email today that I can pick up the certificate now. Uggghh!

My IA today is my own fault: there's just not enough time in the day! It's 9.40pm and I still haven't done any work yet this evening - I'm supposed to be writing TAF codes (aviation forecasts) and writing up my notes on Aviation Hazards, but the internet is distracting me way too much :P. I've spent most of the evening posting on here instead of doing the work ::).

A moany kiddo that turned down every dinner suggestion (he was allowed to choose from all the options we have for making dinner tonight), but cannot make any suggestions of his own.  He also doesn't like mac and cheese, apparently.  What kid doesn't like mac and cheese?!

I can't wait until he is 16 and will just devour anything put in front of him.  ;)

In grad school, I used to spend a lot of time sweeping down the stairs instead of writing papers  :P

I have a *very* tidy house around major deadlines.  Especially my bookcases. Ha.

That would be my kid. He pretty much detests most foods, except for peanut butter sandwiches, which along with bananas, apples, and cheese, provide about 95% of his diet. He won't touch any pasta with a 10 foot pole.

Mine tried to be like that, but I had to put my foot down. Fortunately, he's pretty easy to bribe with fruit or dessert.

My IA: too much to do today and I'm already tired (woke up at 5).

Fortunately Mac & Cheese is the one thing I can guarantee my 2.5 y/o will eat when she turns her nose up at everything else. But I agree, I can't wait till she's the age where she'll just eat whatever she's given.
