Hahah. Had a Swiffer, hated it. The replacement stuff was expensive.

We have a dishwasher.  Nice big one. I insisted, nope, not going to rent a place that doesn't have a dishwasher.

Been here since May and haven't used it yet. It's just so much quicker to wash up by hand. The one time I had the damned thing on, just to clean it out when we first arrived, it ran for like three freaking hours! ???

If you think you’ll be there for a while, you can buy half size dishwashers.  If your landlord feels like swapping it out.

Dude, it’s good to have you back.

Those are all the things I wanted to say to the person who asked about living in Yorkshire.
Not really fair representation though.....life in Yorkshire really isn't.....well.....quite so be reight(I can't pronounce that one to make my wife happy).

I posted some YouTubes of how life was "really like" (fly Yorkshire airways etc).....yep....stay away.....it's horrible up here with the great countryside and clear air.

I have trouble not offending people....so not sure I'm back. Check with me after the monthly golf comp this weekend......might be in the beer for days....boring lager of course...and fruit gums(jeez, I have low standards) .

I'm annoyed that it takes my kids so long to message me back.

I want to see my daughter's reaction to me getting her tickets to see Roger Waters in Glasgow next June.

I'm just sitting here waiting and waiting!

Dunno, depends on the Daughter's educational plans. We're here through August 2018 for sure. But we've got one of those kitchens where they've hidden all the appliances (other than the sink and stove) behind glossy white cabinetry, so I'm thinking I'll just be washing our two plates (etc.) for every meal.  I'm still not sure why it runs for three hours.... but then, the washing machine seems to run that long as well, so I assumed everything in Scotland takes 3 hours to do? ;)

A Swiffer Wet Jet???? Can I have one???? Does it taste nice?  Do you serve it with chips?

hahaha I don't know on what planet you would ever think that would sound like a delicious treat! I mean, I LOVE food, but I can't imagine anything called "wet jet" would sound tasty - with or without chips! LOL

No Jim. It's nothing to do with pole dancing LOL

It's really a bit like the Monty Python skit on The Yorkshireman

This is one of my favorite Python sketches (along with Crunchy Frog). I saw them do it on a VHS of Secret Policemen like 30 years ago when I was a teen in the US and it has stuck with me ever since. Took me forEVER to track in down in the States, and I come here and of course everyone knows it! HA

After a two week wait, the service guy finally came to look at our dishwasher .  It is absolutely screwed, the main control board is shot and that costs hundreds to fix and the motor looks shorted and that was enough.  Aaaaasargh!  That “good deal” on EBay is gonna cost us a bomb.  Its not even the fault of the people who sold it to us as it appears the mystery damage likely happened when we moved it.  And it’s been weeks since we picked it up.

What a massive PITA.  And I’m still gonna be washing dishes by hand after paying somebody £125 today just to confirm I’m an idiot!

I’m gonna write to Miele and see if I can get a discount on a new one since it was so much trouble.

Bummer.

Does it need to be a Miele? They are so expensive and clearly not immune to problems.

That's a really good point.  I was convinced by all the posh yuppies that I talked to that Mielie is a good brand.  Maybe not if the stupid thing self destructs for no good reason and costs £800 to fix.  Now I refuse to accept a dishwasher that doesn't automatically open at the end and has disco lights inside.

We've got a problem with foxes peeing inside of our car port.  God only knows why they want to but they are in there every night.  So we bought some fox repellent that is supposed to smell like a super scary fox has already marked the territory and they should stay away.

My wife sprays this stuff all over and now the whole place reeks like fox pee.  I'm afraid to look at the bottle, but I think we may have just bought a bottle of Fox piss and sprayed it everywhere to stop the Fox piss.  I'm going to stop buying things off the Internet.

Oh great......then your dog can roll in fox s**t instead. Dogs love the stuff. Then you get to wash your dog (or dogs in our case).......oh who am I fooling, my wife walks the dogs and she washes the dogs....she doesn't like it much. I come back from a "tough" morning of golf with the fox crap news......hmmmm.....I shouldn't have mentioned it since it hasn't happened for a while.

OK....just mentioned this story to my wife.....and she said that if you use Jeyes fluid it should stop them re-marking the car port. It has a strong smell though.....
