oh. my. gosh!

Should we send you some thermals?

Aww, thanks for your concern.  I was ranting and may have made it sound worse than it is... we have some space heaters, and they are very good at warming whichever room we're in.  We've managed a year, now, and evolved into a way of life.  It's not the most convenient, but it's tolerable ... as long as additional things don't go wrong, like lightbulbs burning out when I'm trying to get things done.  ::)

We should definitely send bulbs too!  :)

I'm still too short to change them.  :(  But my husband sorted it when he came home.  Yay!

If we send a bottle of wine then she won't care anymore.  Of course, it would probably take more than one.

Oh, trust me... I took care of that.  :) ... I have options.  After my rant, my husband came home and we had a splendid evening.  Huzzah!

My IA for today is work holiday lunches. Like, they know there are a number of celiacs & vegan employees (I'm the former, but know a number of the latter), yet the holiday menu is 100% wheat, cheese and meat. Not even a safe side dish. Nothing says "thank you" like a meal you can't eat, and it's in the office so there's not even a bar

Haha. I wouldn't have thrown that in if I didn't think it was relevant If you can't eat anything at least you can have a drink!

I did too... but about a week and a half ago, it disappeared with a Firefox update.  I could switch to Chrome, but I'm lazy.  And I don't like the look of Chrome.

But just so long as you know I would've liked your comment, I'm okay.  :)

hahah appreciate the clarification :)

I almost exclusively use Chrome, funnily enough. I wonder where your "like" button went!! I think it's missing on my TapTalk app but can't remember.

Did you know you can change the look of chrome? I think mine is set to look like safari. haha.
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

Oooh... hmm.  I will go poke around the settings.  I knew I could change the look, but I didn't know I could make it look specifically like other browsers.  That's useful information.  Thanks!

Yeah, the meal choices people sometimes make for a group.... years of watching people order a pork-only meal, when we had vegans, Kosher Jewish, and a Muslim guy in the office.  I am becoming more intolerant of jerks the older I get, I guess.  >:(

Daughter worked in a place for a while where one group of employees, who had been there for eons, wanted to have the office Christmas meal in a fancy-schmancy seafood restaurant. Two others in the office could not eat seafood - allergic, one to the point that she carried an Epi-pen with her for the "party". One of the other staff with an allergy was a Jewish girl, so the committee ordered an "alternative" meal for her.  Filet Mignon.  Which comes wrapped in streaky bacon. She had had a bite of it before she realized it was wrapped in bacon. Went into the loo and was sick, poor thing, and then really upset the rest of the day. The poor girl couldn't touch anything on her plate and ended up having bread (from another plate) and lemonade for her meal, with people giving her static for not being grateful that they'd ordered her something other than the fish meal the rest were served. The Daughter said she spent quite some time consoling her, telling her it wasn't her fault that she ate pork and that, surely, God wasn't going to hold it against her since she had no idea.  I don't think the "entertainment committee" even bothered to apologize to the young woman.   :o :-X

Sigh.

Someone decided it would be appropriate to smoke a cigarette in the doorway of the post office *while holding the door open*, I tried going into the other section but no ... the person behind them was wearing 3 gallons of perfume. So I can't ship my overnight letter to aphis for certification because I physically can't wait in line, and it'll take too long to drive to another post office in current traffic and I'll likely run into similar issues.
