The 'best' bit was that after he broke the 2 plates, instead of cleaning up the shards on the floor, he sort of swept them to the skirting board with his foot.  He was LITERALLY standing 2 feet away from the cordless Dyson.  I sat there and watched the whole thing in incredulous silence.

Ahhh, he was just scared and didn't know what to do! I did kind of the same thing when I broke an ornament of my parents... admittedly, I was about 8 at the time!  ;)

Here's another abomination I saw on the "Pancake Day" display

I don't know what Carob Fruit Syrup is, but I can tell you that it tastes terrible.  We did a taste test at the table, one spoonful of this after one spoonful of real maple syrup and none of us could believe how horrible it was.

I was missing fluffy panvakes so my hisbsnd attempted to make some from scratch.  He bought this syrup bc maple tends to be expensive...what a mistake, it's gross, almost a sour/bitter taste to it.  Ruined all his hard work on the pancakes.

Right?!

I'll be married 22 years next week. The Hubster told me that for our anniversary he's taking me to a really nice and expensive hotel and that I should dress up for dinner. In the 25 years we've been together, we've NEVER done anything remotely nice like that so I was a bit suspicious

Yes, we are going to a fancy hotel and I need to dress up because he's doing the wedding photography and he needs someone to run the photo booth at the same time.

Romance went a while back! Argh 🤦🏻‍♀️

That's a coincidence, we must be about 22 years in as well. I can't remember exactly because I count from the time we met. Getting married was something we did years later.

I've been thinking about your hubby (believe it or not) because I've been flying my drone a lot. Does he have some googles to fly in first person view? Yesterday I flew up two flights of stairs inside the house until I crashed into the bannister.

The thing is massive so it couldn't be flown inside. As for the goggles, I had no idea they had goggles for that. I can get those and laugh at his expense! I told you romance died a while ago...

I think anyone who reads the posts of the breaking plates incurs the curse of the "Smash Elf."

Yep, hubby broke a plate last night.

Nothing broken for years, then I read the posts on hubbies breaking things, and I heard the sounds of a plate diving to the floor without a parachute and naughty words coming from hubby in the kitchen.

Should I lock the post so no one else suffers the curse?

Will I now be the next victim as I've spoken of the dreaded curse?

Gawd... I have the weekend dishes in there waiting to be washed... now I'm scared!  I haven't broken anything since we moved to this house but this thread didn't exist before... Maybe I'll just leave the dishes dirty.  ;)

I prepaid. Last week I was having a "hands don't work" moment and launched, not one, but TWO Ikea ceramic coffee mugs, at different times on different days. We have a slate kitchen floor. They didn't stand a chance.  :-[
