My IA today is just life in general at the moment :(.

Since I got back from Gibraltar just over two weeks ago, I have:
- felt freezing cold all the time
- barely done any exercise
- had a 3-day minor stomach bug
- followed by 2 days of feeling achy and shivery
- followed by 3 days of a cold
- 9 nights of getting between only 3.5 and 6 hours of sleep (6 of those nights were consecutive - I was averaging 4.5 hours a night last week)
- 2 terrible headaches (including one this morning which made me sick - I'm still in bed, though it has thankfully eased enough that I can sit up and get on the laptop)

Oh no!  Could it be the flu?

Feel better!

Thanks, KFDancer and larrabee :).

The cold/flu symptoms ended more than a week ago, so while at the time I thought it might be flu, it didn't seem to develop into anything. The headaches have just been in the last 3 days, but I think they're most likely just the result of hormones and lack of sleep!

I'm sure the lack of sleep is a huge factor.  Try to rest up, drink lots, and don't be afraid to call into work - arctic blast be damned!

I hope you are feeling better soon! My IA for today is.....

Tomorrow is my driving test! I find it a bit ridiculous that I can drive here legally for a full year, then if I don't have my UK license I'm a beginner! I've been taking lessons to polish up for driving tests here, but I admit that I'm seriously stressing!!! Not looking forward to it at all. Last time I had a driving test I was 16, and I'm 51 now! Any last minute words of advice or encouragement?

Definitely sleep. Once you get run down you can get hit by various "bugs" sequentially, and until you're back rested and your immune system has had a rest, it can be a long haul.

Hope you feel better soon!

You can do it!  You have been driving for a long time (you're 51?!  I thought you were much younger... don't know why).  And you had lessons, so you know what they want you to do for the test.  Best of luck!  Try not to stress too much.  I felt nervous before mine, as one might expect, but I actually kind of enjoyed it once I got there.

I hope it goes smoothly for you. You got this! 😁
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

Check your mirrors. Then check them again. When in doubt, check your mirrors. Keep that head swivelling around even if you're not really looking. If you haven't looked in the mirrors for a few seconds......look in the mirrors.

Thanks everyone! I have the added problem of snow. Test not until 10:44 but.... guess I'll find out if they cancel when I get there. Ugh.

Oh dear.  Keep us posted.  Tell them you are fine to drive in snow.   ;D ;D  Maybe they'll pass you just for that!

Sorry just seeing all these newer posts! (been crazy at work as usual). Your driving instructor would NOT let you take the test if they didn't think you were ready! :)

Smash it out of the park! Best of luck and let us know how you get on!
