I know KF has almost definitely already seen my IA, but this past week’s IA is having to hear people talk about “sledges”. Ugh. Just no. 🤮 (but it is hilarious to say you hate that word being used instead of sled because there are so many people who can’t handle you taking the piss 🤣 they can dish it out but they can’t take it!)

They might sledge you. :)

It's a well known term in many countries. It's a insult/baiting, usually while playing cricket.

There are lots of examples of these on the internet.

My guess is it's something along the lines of buggering?
The usual. American girl meets British guy. They fall into like, then into love. Then there was the big decision. The American traveled across the pond to join the Brit. And life was never the same again.

Sirius, we get that it's the word used here.  It hurts our ears though.  Probably a bit like when you hear an American say Garbage can.

I know what it means, but urban dictionary has it listed for something even more worse/disgusting.

As KF said, it's just the point that the word, to me as an American, sounds like nails on a chalkboard. It's atrocious.

My IA today is ants. Little sugar type ants coming up through the floorboards in our house where the landlord cut a hole to investigate a possible heating system leak. There's nothing for them to eat so it's just a random amount coming looking for food, nothing massive like when they've found it, but still quite annoying and has the cat on edge! (She watches them and attempts to stop them )
